Struggling to see the benefit to the Celtics of this move. Brad is 100% in GFIN mode; Brogdon is a key piece to that strategy. And too much risk of Morris/Anderson not being available when the dust settles.
I like Brogdon off the bench, but there are several benefits to the Celtics dealing for Anderson/Morris:
1. Kyle's solid defense against 4s + good Corner3 shooter over the last few seasons. Replaces Grant if he gets pricey.
2. Monte's exceptional ball security + 3pt shooting from the bench (consistently positive On-Off & +/- over his career)
3. Both are on 1yr deals, just when the roster will get pricey.
4. Saves $3.5MM in total this season to sign a vet (Javonte Green)
5. Gives Brad another 1st, he's good with those
6. With KP, Brogdon goes from #3 scoring option on the Celtics to #4...I like the idea of adding some D & more of a distributor at PG with the changing roster construction. Also feel the Celtics will go double BIG and need depth there with KP/Al/TL.
I wouldn't want Brad to move Brogdon unless he had those 2 lined up.
Could Brad revisit the original deal with the LAC assets going to Washington and the Memphis ones coming here?
Although very similar I like Morris a hair better than Jones & he's cheaper.
