Funny, because upon reading the previous tweet my thought was, "It seems like Alderson keeps hiring chumps just so he can run everything himself".

It seems like Alderson was initially hired (rehired) last fall to help Cohen get approved by the other owners, but I would agree that he is the main person to blame for the overall culture and should be fired the second the season ended. How does Alderson keep surviving all these controversies? What exactly does he bring to the table, anyways?
Even with a new owner lol Mets will never go away
Historically, it’s the Yankees who consider Arkansas based employees for front office positions. Especially those working at top flight bird operations.I should put in my resume.
How long will it be until the "growing short list" for the Mets includes someone who died 2-3 years ago?The list of people who have publicly turned down the Mets so far is pretty hilarious.
Boyland has a massive spectacular home on Maui. Right on the golf course at Kapalua. Spent NY Eve there a couple years ago. He ain't never going to NY.View: https://twitter.com/Joelsherman1/status/1450232824938782720

Why, did they start behaving better?Changed the thread title.
Shapiro has been a really good personnel guy, as evidenced by his tree of former employees in other organizations. His specialty is hiring the right people and letting them do their thing, but he's not much of a baseball mind himself. Cleveland didn't miss a beat when he was promoted to team president or when he left for Toronto, because Chris Antonetti had already been making the baseball decisions for years.Jays denied the Mets request to interview Shapiro

That's too bad. The Jays core was built by Alex Anthopoulos. I think Shapiro has benefited from that work and I thought he wasn't good in Cleveland either, not being able to quite put them over the top
They chose ... poorly.I want to remind everyone here about the decision the Mets made after the 2018 season, when their final two candidates for this job were Brodie Van Wagenen (an agent with no personnel experience and tons of conflicts of interest) and some guy named Chaim Bloom. Good job, Mets.
Officially fired today!Zero doubt in my mind this ends up with Zack Scott brought back, even though nothing has changed since he was suspended for a DUI.

Even we Tottenham fans are laughing at this.An eighth person rejected them without doing an interview, two more possibilities have not said no yet. Who runs a business like this?

You needed to make this joke two days ago. After this morning's announcement you now have me thinking the Mets are going to wind up with Theo.Even we Tottenham fans are laughing at this.
Crying as well, of course, but some laughter in there.
A longtime MLB executive on GM candidates shunning the Mets: "I don't get it. It's the NY Mets. It's the pinnacle of the sport."
this quote is 10000% from himThis is going to end with Sandy Alderson hiring himself, followed by a quick scandal and somehow Mayim Bialik will end up as the new Mets GM. Next spring fans will picket outside demanding LeVar Burton be given the job.
We're talking Queens here. The Mets are the pinnacle of the sport?
So he pulled a Papelbon?
"There's nothing wrong with you, it's a me thing."“This is more about self awareness than rejection.” This should be on a plaque outside Citi Field.
