There has never been a free channel in the history of Roku like X-TV. (And no, it's not an "adult" channel.) Amazing that it hasnt been shut down yet, going on seven months now.
I don't see this anywhere on the site you linked. Is it a coupon code or something? It is $200 for lifetime right now

Is this what youre asking?Does that give you credentials to use HBO separately, like on Apple TV (where you can't get Amazon)?
Back today at Frys, but cheaper this time: $74.99.If you're on Fry's email list, today they have the Roku Premiere + for $79 shipped, tax free in many states which essentially lowers the price another $5-6.
I tried a bunch and ended up settling on the one in the link below. Which i actually found to be better then both Amazon's and the same brand's more expensive versions. Direct from the company, but for whatever reason they are selling that model cheaper on ebay then they are charging elsewhere.Any recommendations for digital antennas?
I will read the whole thread but wanted to see if there was any up-to-date recs. Thanks!

Hmmmm what's with the distinction of "HBO on demand" (this is not an actual product like Go/Now). I'd be worried about that.Is this what youre asking?
https://help.hbogo.com/hc/en-us/articles/204872107-Can-I-get-HBO-with-my-Amazon-Prime-membership-
Once you add the HBO channel to your Amazon membership, you can use the Amazon Prime Video app or go to amazon.com/video to watch HBO on demand (HBO GO is not available to customers who subscribe to HBO through Amazon Prime).
Not saying it'll happen again, but last April TMo gave out MLBTV free. And yes, the login worked across all platforms/apps as well:How about MLB.TV?
No experience with them, but Windscribe's name keeps popping up on the bargain forums. IIRC free up to 50gb/month, with decent sale prices on the 'better' and 'best' levels of service.I'm an MLB.tv subscriber and last summer for the first time I used a proxy server to beat the blackout restriction so I could watch the Sox. That's a super-easy, couple-bucks-a-month hack, on top of the MLB.tv expense. But it's an option.
I'm debating one, but don't plan on ever playing any games on it and essentially only use my current Fire TV box for live TV streaming/Kodi (well actually the SPMC fork).Updated Nvidia Shield hits the shelves today at $199.
If you only ever use it for video playback/Kodi, the integrated Intel graphics is more than sufficient.I'm debating one, but don't plan on ever playing any games on it and essentially only use my current Fire TV box for live TV streaming/Kodi (well actually the SPMC fork).
Is the left over capability difference really worth it?
As Sumner mentioned: if you aren't gaming with it, it's pricey overkill for just video. But dasm nice overkill, as owners rave about it.I'm debating one, but don't plan on ever playing any games on it and essentially only use my current Fire TV box for live TV streaming/Kodi (well actually the SPMC fork).

IANALMy google searching comes up with a lot of gray areas on this.
Yeah, they seem too good to be true to be honest. My only hiccup is will my wireless hotspot be fast enough. I stream with my firestick. It buffers sometimes but I'm usually streaming HD ncaa hoopsIANAL
Clarifying for the sake of the discussion: the primary "grey area" is that you're not distributing content, like you would with a torrent based platform (which, IIRC, is what really nailed MovieBox)? You're merely consuming it?
It's not legal. There's not really a grey area.Yeah, they seem too good to be true to be honest. My only hiccup is will my wireless hotspot be fast enough. I stream with my firestick. It buffers sometimes but I'm usually streaming HD ncaa hoops
Edit: why wouldn't everyone with high speed net not have this.
It's a hell of a temptation to get one. I once had a buddy who bought all that direct tv card scrambling equipment online from Canada way back before the black Sunday card zapping (if anyone remembers that). Direct TV sued him for $10k or $15k. He only had the thing a few months. He settled on $5k on recommendation by his lawyer. I remember searching online for the same equipment after he told me what he bought. So glad I didn't.It's not legal. There's not really a grey area.
This.Obligatory: VPN.
And yeah, it's really not grey. But the MPAA, RIAA, et al are more concerned with whomever leaked and whomever is hosting that screener of La La Land, than they are with the guy watching a streamed web-feed of CSN-NE (in the background, while I make dinner).
Can you (or anyone for that matter) recommend a good VPN service that works well with Kodi?Obligatory: VPN.

Kodi is perfectly legal; it's just a way to organize and play back your videos and connect to streaming services. For those using Kodi could someone direct me to the right answer on the legality. My google searching comes up with a lot of gray areas on this. I'm not asking for any illegal tips on how to do anything I just want to be able to cut the cord on directv but be able to get my sports fix too but I also want a legit resource to get that media. I know someone who uses Kodi and gets all the sports and such along with movies in theatre now.
Yeah he bought it from someone who I'm sure is putting add on plug-ins. Though he didn't exactly realize it at the time. However amazon and ebay is full of kodi boxes claiming free Netflix and unlimited nfl ticket, mlb, and even porn sites. Advertising it stating you need no subscription to any services from those. I'm a little surprised amazon had it. All positive review and such.Kodi is perfectly legal; it's just a way to organize and play back your videos and connect to streaming services.
This person is probably using plugins that connect to illegal services (unless they're paying for mlb.tv and Netflix and then using those plugins, or are British and using legal BBC streams, or something like that-none of that would explain the in theater movies though).
Genesis, sportsdevil, etc are all illegal in the US, and this person should know it-they're not available through the official Kodi repositories, he/she had to seek them out on sketchy third party sites.
Those boxes are seriously hurting the Kodi project: https://kodi.tv/the-piracy-box-sellers-and-youtube-promoters-are-killing-kodi/. They've obtained the trademark to Kodi to try to shut them down. Yeah, this was a huge part of the reason for changing the name from XBMC to Kodi. Those boxes are seriously hurting the Kodi project: https://kodi.tv/the-piracy-box-sellers-and-youtube-promoters-are-killing-kodi/. I can't recall Amazon listings explicitly saying that the content of specific pay services is free. I've seen lots and lots of allusions and implications, with phrases like "preloaded with Netflix", "HBO included" and "free movies and sports", by which the buyer can draw his own inference (IOW, the app itself is preloaded or free), but not recalling anything as blatant as "comes with free content from Netflix/HBO/MLB".However amazon and ebay is full of kodi boxes claiming free Netflix and unlimited nfl ticket, mlb, and even porn sites. Aw man, no Charlie Moore reruns and Dirty Water TV???(in season, you can find the games, but not the other 20 hours of the NESN broadcast day).
Here's some ive seen Check this out: ANDROID TV BOX -FULLY LOADED -FULLY UNLOCKED -WATCH ANYTHING XBMCMart The descriptions are vague but the reviews and answers section details more than I think kodi wants them to.I can't recall Amazon listings explicitly saying that the content of specific pay services is free. And with the proliferation of online pron, I'd venture that any advertised as being included is just a webstream of any one of a bazillion sites. Not unlike an interface to YouTube.
Now Ebay is a very different story, I'm sure......
Wow, didnt realize. Looks like they added it just about three months ago.NESN is available on the Playstation Vue service.
Cheapest way I have seen to get NESN is through Playstation Vue at $35 a month. Before you go any further, confirm with Verizon (and any competing telecom at your address) that you can get a reasonably priced internet only package.
Not saying good or bad, just asking: any reason for the Fire as your main box?
NESN: If I've kept current, there's no way to purchase NESN without a cable or dish package. It's also not available, that I'm aware, on any of the major streaming providers (like DTV-N). And I've hunted and pecked around in Kodi addons, and I still havent found even a reference to NESN (in season, you can find the games, but not the other 20 hours of the NESN broadcast day). If you go the MLB TV route, they give you the game and that's it: no pregame, no postgame, no middle of the day content.
