Is there a membership / group to join now to get 'presale' or preferred ticketing?
The only thing to date that I am aware of (but I am not an expert here) is to register your interest for tickets here.

If I get shut out of 2026 I will get to the 2030 tourney come hell or high water because I sure as shit will not be going to Saudi Arabia in 2034.

6 host nations is insane especially with Spain one of them but obviously only 1 game for 3 of the hosts. That’s a good one for vacation for sure (2030)
Triple continental WC is unique for sure

6 auto qualifiers is a trip but 4 blue bloods and 2 others goodfootie nations so no real problem (like the joke that was Qatar)

It used to be that US Soccer Club members got advanced access based on seniority. I let my membership lapse, so it doesn't do me much good either way. I'm a veteran of the Fax Wars of 2006, which ended up working. In 2010 and 2014 I went through FIFA and got all of what I applied for (US matches through the group rounds, plus a conditional ticket to R16 if they advanced). Going for a team specific ticket / TST (committing to multiple matches for your team regardless of venue) used to help, but I'm not sure it'll matter if you're a USMNT fan in 2024. Regardless, I'm going to try. Definitely register your interest so you don't miss key emails.

Not that I need an excuse to go back to Portugal but we will totally use this as an excuse to go back to Portugal. I've also been trying for years to get my dad to take a trip there with all of his golf + soccer buds from Ludlow who go back like every year so maybe I can get him on a plane for that.

I just looked at my credit card statement. It looks like my tickets were around €150 each for the group stage, and that was category 2. Maybe my WC buddy @soxfaninyankeeland remembers too.

One other piece of piece of advice. Their categories are *broad*. We did cat 1 in Brazil and ended up one game with fantastic seats and the next in literally the last row of the Maracaña.
Your group stage price is correct. They rose about 20% for R16/QF then rise substantially higher for SF/F. We went to a bunch or R16 and QF games in ‘22 and, once you factored in the fees for the ticket resale portal, my average cost per game was $208.
Excellent point about the breadth of the category. All of the above tickets were category 2 and all were down at one end and up high, but lucked into having the Netherlands-Argentina and Spain-Morocco shootouts happen right in front of us.

One other data point related to @DennyDoyle'sBoil ‘s post mentioning the euros that may be relevant. As most of you know, Germany is hosting this year. I and a bunch of friends entered the lottery for a bunch of games. Some in other cities, I admittedly only chose Berlin. *None* of us got a single game, except one guy who got literally everything he put in for, including the FINAL! Something I reminded him of when I brought him to the first Union UCL game haha.

That was like 8 of us that got shut out. I have to think that our German addresses did not help our cause. That was the first time I entered for an event like this and got skunked.

I got shut out completely in the first ballot. In the second ballot, I chose the most expensive tickets and got 4 of 8 games. None of the ones I wanted the most. I've decided not to go and save my money for 2026.
