I don't think Roenicke is an especially good manager, so this seems fine.  Still, is it Roenicke's fault that Carlos Gomez and Lucroy are hurt, Braun is a shell of himself, and Aramis is 36 and fading fast?  
 
Anyone know if there's more to the story?  From the (far) outside I see that the last season the Brewers had Greinke and Fielder (2011) they won 96 games and went to the NLCS, then they both left, Braun got busted, and the team hasn't done much since.

All this is true but you can't really fire players. When teams get bad, the first guy to go is the manager, fair or not.
