The Colorado Avalanche are interested in unrestricted free agent Jarome Iginla.
According to Adrian Dater of The Denver Post, “the Avs plan to make a strong bid for Jarome Iginla.”
The 37-year-old is coming off a successful 30-goal, 61-point campaign with the Boston Bruins, the 12th season Iginla has registered at least 30 goals.
Although Iginla had expressed an interest in staying with the Bruins, it’s believed he will sign elsewhere due to Boston’s salary cap issues.

Also per @SunGarrioch MT @MikeHeika Stars-Senators agreed to Spezza deal. Awaiting trade call. I'm hearing three forwards and a draft pick.

When Jarome Iginla signs, I expect it will be a three-year deal. TB, COL and VAN are the finalists.

FTHN Magazine has been informed that Glen Sather has contacted Sharks GM Doug Wilson in trying to land Joe Thornton. Phone lines continue to burn up today.
The Rangers however are pressed for Cap Space and will need to shed some salary in this deal as well. There is also the roadblock of Joe Thornton waiving his No Trade Clause as he already said no to Dallas. The word is he would for the Rangers to play with friend, Rick Nash.
 

This has been a long speculated rumor and now has serious legs. Will Derick Brassard be heading the other way? The Rangers will then need to find a 3rd line center and 4th line center as well.

Not sure if credible, but if it came to fruition it would be a good fit. Just don't know how they'd work this with the cap.
