I think its mostly just horrible execution by Spurs.  United might have surprised them by pressing more than usual and dropping a forward more into midfield but its nothing the players haven't seen before and United isn't particularly effective in pressing, given their lack of quickness up front.  And LVG has been using knockdowns to Fellaini as the squad's primary outlet when in possession for months now.

Possession before the sub was 63-37 Man Utd.  Possession since is 55/45 Spurs.  Some of that is score effects but the tactical realignment has made a big difference.

Awesome celebration from Rooney.

Very complete performance.  Very nice to have Carrick back in the middle.

Will be interesting to see what the team is vs Liverpool next week with Di Maria eligible to play.

I'm rooting for a draw or a loss for Liverpool today and a draw in the NW Derby. Arsenal will be fine as long as they take care of their own business. Either of those teams could push Arsenal down to fourth too, so you don't want to see them too well.

I know it's a little suicidal but I'm rooting for Liverpool here. I can't give up the dream of United missing the CL once again and possibly firing another manager.
I feel the exact same way.

Swansea have come out of the blocks well. Liverpool haven't quite got into the game yet. Not much happening for them, credit to Swansea.  If Liverpool can get in evens at the half it won't be too bad. On another day Swansea might have made more of their half chances.

I've watched plenty of Liverpool games where they dominate possession, have the other keeper make some great saves, and go into the half scoreless.  Nice to see it occasionally happens the other way.

Swans have only conceded 5 second half goals this season.  Swansea are shoring up midfield, so there's no space for Liverpool to play through the middle. I have to say Monk has set his team up well and they're doing a job.

But Liverpool have the players,  be interesting to see what changes if any are made in terms of tactics and formation.  I wonder when they'll bring Gerrard on.

Liverpool look the stronger team now, but I can see Swansea hitting them on the counter if one of these outlets connects. Still waiting for the Shelvey goal.

Kind of feels like if a goal is going to come for Liverpool it will have to be on a set piece or a wonder strike.

Or  a slice of good fortune. To be fair they have played better this half.

That commentary is why fans of opposing teams hate Gerrard.  Yes, it was his influence and aura that caused Swansea to kick a ball right into Henderson's foot and bounce into the goal.

Good fortune is right -- but it's true, I think Swansea used more than a half tank of fuel in the first half and now they are running on fumes.

Yeah, the Gerrard ball washing was a little much, especially as he wasn't involved in the build up to the goal at all.

Jeteresque.  All we were missing were references to his "calm eyes" and "elegant gait".

I've seen that second half happen to Liverpool as well.  When you put that kind of effort out in the first half and don't get the goal, it's easy to run out of gas in the second.

Professional victory, even though Swansea probably deserved a draw. Keeps the pressure on Arsenal and United. Tottenham and Southampton have to be considered long shots for top-4.

Big result there for Liverpool. I agree Swansea gave up a lot on the fist half energy wise. I liked how liverpool started the second half. They got some luck, but...it evens out over the course of a season, that's what they say and they also say you make your own luck and Liverpool did that. Credit to the keeper for making some good saves in the first half.
