A bit early but might as well have a thread.

Anyone else thinking about going? Lots of venues in the western part of the country that are easy to get back and forth from. I'm thinking about setting up in Cologne for a week and trying to catch 4 or 5 games.

Yep -- Dortmund, Dusseldorf, Gelsenkirchen and Cologne.

I was really hoping they might have games in the Leverkusen stadium, because there is a hotel attached directly too it. Probably never would have gotten a reservation, but it was nice to imagine the possibility. (The hotel actually looks into the pitch.) But the stadium is too small -- the new Shalke stadium is going to be like 50,000 plus, so I can see why they went with Gelsenkirchen.

I’ll be applying for tickets. I’m loathe to say “I’m going” as I’ve had tickets to the ‘16 and ‘20 Euro but life conspired to keep me away both times. Extra incentive this time: partying with @candylandriots on a 4th continent.

Oooh, this whole winter World Cup has thrown me off -- Euro 2024 is sneaking up on us! That Rhine cluster looks very appealing.

Just a quick note to say that Hyatt has some great deals on hotels using points in Germany. They just added two new chains -- Lindner and me and all -- which have extensive properties in some of the Euro 2024 host cities. When Hyatt adds new hotels to the portfolio, they often add them as low categories and then increase them as they see demand in future years. Right now, the number of points needed for some great looking places is very low. If you have Hyatt points, great. If you don't, you can transfer from Chase if you have a preferred card. If you don't have Chase points, you can even buy Hyatt points for 2 cents.

I've booked in Cologne, Frankfurt and Dusseldorf for a very small number of points, including on game nights during the group stage. I'm doing it speculatively without tickets, but anyone thinking of going might want to take a look. First ticket sale is in October.

I’m probably going to mention this a little wider soon, but I’ll put in a shameless plug for myself if anyone is planing on coming over. I started a new travel agency a few months ago. It is very much in its infancy (the website probably won’t be finished until next week), and I am only taking limited clients so far. It’s mostly focused on the entertainment industry, but I think a lot of our institutional knowledge. such that it is at this point, is largely applicable to sporting events as well. So I’ll help any Gazza member interested in coming here for Euro 2024 at no additional cost to you—even better if you want I see a concert(s) or festival in addition to Euro24, or entirely separate- or actually perform at a festival yourself! I know a lot of people prefer to do travel planning themselves for fans, less so for performers, and that’s all fine, but for anyone else, let me know and I can give you more details. And I’ll share more once the website is official in the next few days, but in the meantime, please keep any interest and questions to PM

That's great @candylandriots. Just from trying to plan a trip myself, I think I'm qualified to say that having someone who knows what they are doing and can manage logistics, and especially travel between venues and hotels, would be invaluable. I enjoy the planning, but I would think for most people it would be less than enjoyable, so I think you're providing a pretty good service. Obviously, I'm pretty early -- the draw won't even be until the end of the year. Hopefully, this thread will pick up as it gets closer.
