Any coaches paid as a contractor (1099)?

Wondering if any of you are professional coaches and get paid as a contractor. I figure there must be software or something dedicated to that group. I'm wading into these waters and drowning as soon as I dip my toe in the water.

Maybe this would be better in the money forum, but I figured I'd start here.

Keep good track of all your expenses- travel, meals, equipment, training (if you had to get a coaching license, association dues, etc.)...most of that you can use to offset the compensation.

I'm a sports official and that's what I do, at least for the portion of my game fees that are subject to a 1099 (that is, working more than $600 worth of games for the same city/town or association).
