I need to post something substantive in your 2024 OF thread about Abreu as part of a rotation that maybe replaces Verdugo, saving 7+ million.

Yeah, if he's ready, moving Verdugo for something could certainly make sense. I would guess Verdugo would get a raise in his last arb year, too.

Of course, they don't necessarily need to save $ because I expect them to blow past the 1st threshold next year.

Will be a fun off season.

Nate Tellier did allow 1 of Bolden's runners to score, but he's pitched 1.2 scoreless, 1 hit, 2 strikeouts.

Coffey-Teel-Gonzalez for the Greenville 9th.

Coffey grounded out, Teel got hit.

Teel is 0-3 catching base stealers today, but 2 of them were with Bolden so I'll just assume he's bad at holding runners on. Cuz Teel.

Paez pitched a 1-2-3 3rd, but allowed 3 hits & 2 runs in the 4th.

Salem had a single from Jhostynxon to start the game, but no hits since then.

Losing 2-0 t5.

Paez came out after 6 innings, 2 runs on 4 hits & 2 walks with 5 strikeouts.

Nathanael Cruz came in for the 7th & allowed a 2-run homer to make it 8-4.

Railin Perez allowed a walk & struck out 3 in the 8th.

Jonathan Brand allowed 2 runs in the 9th, but Salem held on to win 8-6.

I've decided I don't really love this series as it's quite arbitrary, but we'll try it for another day or 2...

I am, too, but not so sure they don't go with Abreu if Duran needs to go on the IL.
