James J. Jimmy "Big Jimmy" Paxton is dominant. Hardly anybody makes hard contact against him. The hapless A's will be dribbling squib cakes all over the Fenway infield. The Sox offense needs to manage only a run or two to put this baby in the win column. 4:05 start. Enjoy!

JohnnyTheBone on a heater. The Sox not looking too bad either.

Rice looks like he has been wearing that suit his whole life and Pap looks like he borrowed his jacket a minute before they turned on the camera.

Duran from fluffing that inside the park to multiple after game interviews. What a world

Cora also said he wants Martin and Jansen to pitch before the break, so if they can just piece together the pen until the 8th inning they should be good.

Verdugo has a solid case for making the All-Star team.
Duran actually has a better case. He's got an .885 OPS in 229 at-bats, with 17 steals.

When his BABIP drops down, his numbers will fall, but as of right this minute, he probably should be on the All-Star team. Going into today, the only AL hitters who had higher OPS than .885 are Ohtani, Seager, Robert, and Diaz.

I really don't care about the All-Star team selections, but as of now, sure seems like he deserves it.

Yeah, coming out of Shabat to see two wins is nice. Been some time.

and as a bonus Panama into the semis at the Gold Cup with a resounding 4-0 win over Qatar

Game 90
The box score! The standings! For goodness sake.
The whole Sox lineup has started to rake,
hitting all too well like Taylor hit Jake.
We’re leaving some shellshocked teams in our wake.
Other contenders are starting to quake
because a wild card spot is at stake.
We’re on the rise like sone kind of sea snake
about to strike from the depths of the lake.
Only two games back. We’ll be hard to shake.
Playing the A’s has been a piece of cake,
but those darn things are tricky to bake,
so we’ve got to pitch well, hit hard, and make
the plays in the field in order to take
this final game before a well-earned break.
Remember the words @JohnnyTheBone spake.
Let’s make the five streak real and not fake.

Your terrific poems have made this year's game threads must reading!

And this line deserved some love:
Find someone in life who loves you as much as Cora loves Kike.
Thanks Semper, you made me laugh out loud!
And honorable mention to whoever it was that said
DOB couldn't announce his way out of a paper bag.

Pretty sure that was Johnny the Bone. JTB and Lynn Rice are carrying a lot of the water right now but the rest of the thread members are being clever too. Big swing game today. 5 over .500 is a lot nicer than 3 over.
