In The Quivering Forest
Rodon goes for his 10th win of the season tonight. He could sneakily win 20 this year. Which after everyone dumping him last year, would be pretty sweet.

I believe for the first time all season (unless I missed it in the last couple days), the Yankees now lead MLB in both runs scored per game (5.10) and runs allowed per game (3.24), which is pretty hard to do. I think they hit this mark on occasion during their insane 1st half of 2022 as well.

Notably, while they do lead MLB in offensive fWAR, they are only 10th in pitching fWAR, mostly because their ERA is almost a run lower than their FIP.

BOS has pretty big splits against starting pitchers so far this year, .754 OPS against righties and .661 against lefties.

Not a big deal but Jamie Westbrook is up at the plate during the Aaron Boone interview on the dreaded Fox telecast. JW is someone no one knows much about but he played all of 2023 for NY's AAA team and Boone really stays on top of that now, so one of the questions really should have been 'tell us about Jamie Westbrook' as opposed to all the obvious questions we already know.

Strong inning for Rodon but he's at 98, with a season high of 103 last outing.
You give him one more?
There's your answer, he looked good in the final three innings at least.

NY doesn't really carry a long guy, they have gotten a very good start basically every game (tonight I think literally might be the worst of the first 73).

Once Jasson Dominguez gets into the cleanup spot, there is going to be no getting him out of there, like Volpe leading off.
