Swept in TEX and missing Harper and Hoskins, the Phillies come to town hungry for their first win. NY seems to have lined up their rotation for this, with their three top current guys scheduled (Cortes, German, Cole), whereas NY misses Zach Wheeler.

Some fun subtexts in this series, Volpe had a double and triple against Nola a week ago and Nola was very complimentary after, they will see each other again on Wednesday.

Also Taijuan Walker starts for PHI tonight, Judge has 4 HRs against him in 11 career ABs, here is a 453 ft blast from last August:

Who in the heck is Ian Hamilton?
He is a 27 year old who was a White Sox prospect before getting hit in the face by a line drive in 2019 and it fucking him up for years, eight surgeries!

NY picked him up this winter, he was great this spring and squoze him onto the roster today in Brito's spot, NY with 9 relievers for now. He was great in the spring and has a unique pitch called the 'Slambio':

“Slambio,” Boone said on Monday with a grin. “It’s a combination between a slider and a change, or a cambio. Slambio!”

Franchy set that up with his airmail throw from right over head of Trevino.
I was behind but was going to say that it was a hilarious 'outfield assist', he did throw a strike to Nestor. Franchy always one step ahead!

The Phillies staff is already a bit of a mess in game 4, they gave up 16 runs on Saturday to TEX and have a few guys out.

Weak first pitch groundout, situation wasn't big enough for him.

Phillies with a lot of weak contact hits tonight but no walks from Yankee pitching meant that their 11 'hits' only resulted in 1 run, solid game.

9-0 in walks tonight for the two teams, that doesn't happen very often.

Most things clicking right now. Would be good to see Holmes string together a good April because I really still have my doubts from the second half of the year.
