Right?I do wish some folks would be more candid and drop the ""the only more important day/better day/thing/event in my life is when my wife agreed to marry me/actually did marry me/ my first (or any) child was born". Baloney.

When she agreed to divorce me was hard to top, thoughI do wish some folks would be more candid and drop the ""the only more important day/better day/thing/event in my life is when my wife agreed to marry me/actually did marry me/ my first (or any) child was born". Baloney.
Ahahahaha! When she agreed to divorce me was hard to top, though
Yes, 2004 was better than my son's birth, but to be fair, I didn't have to deal with decades of not being a parent, along with several stillbirths along the way, before I became a father.I do wish some folks would be more candid and drop the ""the only more important day/better day/thing/event in my life is when my wife agreed to marry me/actually did marry me/ my first (or any) child was born". I do get why folks would dsay their wedding day beats 2004...just not me. My wedding day was a terrifically fun event and it made me incredibly happy but I hadn't waited 25+ years for it to happen.I do wish some folks would be more candid and drop the ""the only more important day/better day/thing/event in my life is when my wife agreed to marry me/actually did marry me/ my first (or any) child was born". Baloney.
My thought was somewhat tongue in cheek. Emphasis on somewhat.Yes, 2004 was better than my son's birth, but to be fair, I didn't have to deal with decades of not being a parent, along with several stillbirths along the way, before I became a father.
Nowadays, the husband gets a few weeks off (depending on where he works I guess) when a new one arrives. For my kids, went out and got a bottle of whiskey to celebrate, and the cigars, and went in to work the very next day to hand them out (the cigars).I do NOTget why folks say the birth of their child was such a fantastic day. Actually having said child as a part of your family, playing with them, teaching them, enjoying seeing and being a part of their growth as humans absolutely beats 2004 but the one day event of birth with all of its messiness, lack of sleep, fear of complications, etc? How the hell does that beat Otober 27, 2004?
http://counterarguments.blogspot.com/2009/10/whats-joke-with-buck-showalter.html"eff them....I'm done with em'"....."we will never beat the Yankees in a big spot"!!!
It sucks, but it's reality.
I love it!
The day my son was born was fabby, and without the baggage from 1978 on.My thought was somewhat tongue in cheek. Emphasis on somewhat.
