Heh. (That Spurs chance which led to the great Ramsdale safe was probably offside on the first pass and definitely offside on the flick to Kane, but the flag didn't go up either time.)Mundane early game…
Tottenham’s strategy.. foul the crap out of an arsenal player, not get called, get a counter due to non-call.Conte seems to have gotten his tactics spot on. Doesn't make for much of a spectacle when Arsenal has the ball, but Spurs looks so menacing on the counter.
I'm glad I'm not the only person here underwhelmed by the refereeing so far.Tottenham’s strategy.. foul the crap out of an arsenal player, not get called, get a counter due to non-call.
Like the commentator said.. it was a weird almost pass back.. but the initial save was pretty bad not to hold it or punch it out farther imoEvery time you look at that second goal it’s worse for Lloris. He’s really fallen off a cliff.
Does it? BT Sport is in total agreement that it was a deserved red - a stomp straight onto the back of the ankle. That red seems harsh even as an Arsenal fan
Especially when officials are handing out bullshit red cards. Yellow? Sure, that merited one. Red is insane, though.Tougher to launch counterattacks with only 10 players on the pitch.
Again, everyone here on UK TV - including Jermaine Jenas (ex-Spurs) and Peter Walton (ex-referee) - don't think there's any debate about the red at all.Especially when officials are handing out bullshit red cards. Yellow? Sure, that merited one. Red is insane, though.
Are we sure he's out of bed yet?Aubameyang is starting for Chelsea at Crystal Palace, FWIW.
I don’t know that the league has changed that drastically since last season when it got them into the CL.I don’t think Conte’s system is going to bring enough results in this league. Almost every team has a player that can break a defense with an individual moment of brilliance. The top teams all can take down the low block. There are too many hotheaded players that can do something stupid at any moment, and his keeper isn’t reliable anymore. Spurs are dramatically improved, but I don’t think it’s anywhere near enough to compete.
He really does look like a completely different player. Much more dynamic , energetic and confident. I never much rated him at City but he’s turned into a really good player.I’m so happy for Gabriel Jesus. He’s so dynamic again. He looked like this when he first joined City and spent years just getting more safe and becoming just a grafter. He’s so fun to watch again
Guessing both Nunez and Jota arriving late back from Intl. duty is the reason for Firmino’s start.Liverpool line up:
Liverpool: Alisson, Alexander-Arnold, Matip, van Dijk, Tsimikas, Henderson, Fabinho, Thiago, Salah, Firmino, Carvalho.
Subs: Gomez, Milner, Adrian, Elliott, Jota, Diaz, Nunez, Arthur, Phillips.
Merseyside was also the early game. Supposedly they’re putting these high passion games early to limit the drinking time beforehandI hate when the NLD is the early Saturday game. Nothing like having your weekend ruined before breakfast Saturday morning.
