I don’t think any of these guys going in the top 33 is surprising so I don’t really see how it’s pushing anything down towards the Pats at this point
Agreed.

Frankly, I’m surprised anyone is surprised. With the Vikings, Broncos, and Raiders picking 11-12-13, I’m not sure how anyone thought we wouldn’t have six QBs off the board at this point.

The Raiders signed Minshew so they wouldn’t have to reach for a QB, but I wouldn’t be surprised in the slightest if they took Nix at 13 if Denver had passed on him.

BB looks ready to blow a gasket at all the non-draft shenanigans on the Macafee Show.
Yeah, this freak show is just not the best platform for BB although I still love when they go to him. But kinda wish a guy like Scott Zolak was on the panel

I still can’t believe Atlanta took Penix
Can they trade Cousins? They’d take a big cap hit but they’d effective buying some draft picks, as the contract would be favorable for the acquiring team. But I assumed that wasn’t allowed.

My wild-ass guess is they have multiple offers on the table for Penix and will move him by the end of the weekend.

There are definitely some boards that had Penix and Nix in the 2nd rd so this can only help NE.
It was the whole basis of the best case I could make for drafting MHJ over Maye: surely both Penix and Nix would be available at 34. Now, can you imagine if they had taken MHJ or traded down? We’d have a Eugene Chung-like situation.

But on what planet are they going to get offers better than the 8th pick in the draft value for this season?

I’m sure they might be able to after a couple years. The Broncos could get rid of Wilson so anything’s possible.

It’s insane the Falcons do a GFIN signing with Cousins and have a golden opportunity to add a high talent player only to stash a QB for years

Hypothetically, imagine they have one offer for 17 and a couple other picks, and a second offer for 22 and a bigger haul of other picks. If you prefer the 17 offer if a particular player is available and the 22 offer if he isn’t, and you’re confident the 22 deal will be there, why not let it play out?

Not saying that’s what happened, but if it turns out the league likes Penix better than McCarthy or Nix (similar to how the market misread the market for Mayfield several years ago), maybe the Falcons aren’t worried about not being able to get a good deal.

He’s had a smile on his face since I fired up the stream 10 minutes ago.
It occurs to me all of a sudden, after being black listed by the honors, it’s probably cool to be at a place full of football people who all think he’s the best. I got no love for Rodgers, but I know what he was doing.

Not a terrible gig. It must be strange to be there feeling no pressure but still getting paid for it.
