4 Red Sox players test positive for COVID-19

Just to continue with the covid19-projections (these are not those with positive tests, but an estimate for the number of people in the state currently infected right now) Arizona currently infected: 3.15% (229k people) Florida currently infected: 1.84% (394k people) Of course lots of...

4 Red Sox players test positive for COVID-19

Not that this is gospel, but covid19-proecjtions estimated 0.85% of US currently infected right now (2.85M people). I'm not entirely sure what they mean by "current" though, and some people have been Covid Positive for quite awhile as they may still shed inactive virus. I would suspect MLB...

    2020 Pats: Welcome to Camelot

I'll definitely be hoping Stidham wins the job and Cam gets cut. Not optimistic Newton is the future QB of the next successful Patriots team.

    Gone Brady Gone

It seems to be a combination of some patients with no symptoms and normal oxygen levels and some patients with no symptoms and low oxygen levels. Uglier CTs = more likely low oxygen levels. The term “happy hypoxia” has been thrown around a lot, people infected with Covid and don’t notice that...

    Gone Brady Gone

Not sure what to tell you... this is what we see sometimes. A lot of patients coming in for abdominal pain, neck pain, motor vehicle accidents, shoulder dislocations, etc with no respiratory symptoms. They get scanned, the lungs look ugly on CT, and it turns out they are COVID positive. No...

    Gone Brady Gone

I can save you the suspense.... there is definitely evidence of significant lung damage in some young asymptomatic and mildly symptomatic patients. In fact, early in the epidemic some ERs in COVID hotbeds I know were ordering a CT of the chest along with a CT of abdomen and pelvis for patients...

    Gone Brady Gone

The only way this line of thinking could be even semi-reasonable is if we truly are just giving up, heading to heard immunity, and 70% of the population is likely going to get COVID anyway. In that case, even more than 70% of the NFL will probably get it (given the close contract), and getting...

"We're going to Disney World!" NBA to resume season July 31 at WDW

Agreed the increased risk of a non-muscle injury in Orlando is minimal to none vs a normal NBA game. Maybe he should have had some type of insurance regardless, doesn't make much sense from him to bail on Orlando for this reason. Additionally, Tatum has probably reached excess max contract...

"We're going to Disney World!" NBA to resume season July 31 at WDW

I think he's more concerned about a Hayward-type injury than a hamstring pull. I'm sure there is a way to work this stuff out with insurance though. I can't get over DeSantis.... the idea that he could report those numbers in a press conference without double checking them or realizing the...

"We're going to Disney World!" NBA to resume season July 31 at WDW

Thanks for the clarification, that's a MAJOR difference! The previous link actually had a quote from DeSantis, so unless he was misquoted it's scary he could be that off. If he thought 52% of airport employees really tested positive, he should have shut the entire place down.

Disney support staff won't be under quarantine 52% positive rate Orlando airport workers, not great....

"We're going to Disney World!" NBA to resume season July 31 at WDW

You're probably right that being in the best "bubble" is more important than avoiding a COVID hotbed. But I doubt they can make this thing perfect and avoid all exposure to all players and personnel at all times. I doubt they are thrilled with the possibility that the rest of Florida might be...

"We're going to Disney World!" NBA to resume season July 31 at WDW

Obviously this is a huge logistical challenge and I'm sure the NBA is pretty much locked into the Disney idea. But things aren't trending too well in Florida, a month from now I'm afraid how things will look. In retrospect, might have been better plan on going to one of the initial hotbeds in...

"We're going to Disney World!" NBA to resume season July 31 at WDW

Perhaps I'm just not "woke", but I fail to see how NBA players are going to do more for social justice and reform by not playing. These are some of the most influential and well-respected minorities in the country, seems like they'd be much better off in their pursuits by being front and center...

    Only God Can Judge Judge

Could be, it's all sort of semantics anyway. Stress fractures are the result of abnormal stress put on a normal bone, so if he had an injury and then repeated stress on an abnormal bone resulted in a true fracture to develop, that's not really a stress fracture (Normal stress placed on an...
