When was the last major name change in any pro sports franchise? Before DC and Cleveland, I mean. Was it the Hurricanes/ Avalanche in the NHL? The Titans in the NFL? That being said, I can't remember it ever happening when a team didn't move.

I dunno. His defense seems stellar at both, but as a shortstop with his numbers he's pretty good. As a second baseman with the same stats he's elite. They could always find another pretty good shortstop. And not to blindly go all prospect love, but Meyer is on the way.

Me too. But Guardians is not terrible. The unis are not particularly good, though. I mean it's pretty much exactly the same as was when they were the Indians. And it's very obvious. That font doesn't look good with a different name. They should consider a total re-design.
