Could Rafa have gone ITP if he'd been running flat out to start there?
Exactly what I thought. He didn't even start running until he hit 1st.
Doubt it - he and the ball reached 3rd at the same time.Could Rafa have gone ITP if he'd been running flat out to start there?
Think only Blizzard has the speed on this team to make that an ITPCould Rafa have gone ITP if he'd been running flat out to start there?
Probably only if he coerced the Angels into a bad throw.Could Rafa have gone ITP if he'd been running flat out to start there?
I wouldn't have expected him to triple to left in Seattle either.Think only Blizzard has the speed on this team to make that an ITP

When I umped highschool ball, I'd occasionally make a ball/strike call and then realize it was wrong right afterwards. You can't really change your mind at that point, and I'd do my best to just forget it, but you do have it in the back of your mind.My honest guess is that he got both calls wrong and the second one wasn't really a makeup call. Umpires are often not very good at calling balls and strikes.
Edit: although I think in the back of their minds they might worry that they just missed a call, in which case they'll call the next borderline call the other way (even if it's not really borderline, see second sentence above).
He'll bat in the 9th.Dalbec in for defense
DalbeK is now the equivalent of a garbage time pitcher.Dalbec in for defense
Agreed, but it's also possible that with the travel day and all, he might be in Worcester by the time the Sox play againHe'll bat in the 9th.
I don't think he's got much chance to produce at this point, but if you're going to get him ABs, this is a good spot.
Bobby Stapleton?DalbeK is now the equivalent of a garbage time pitcher.
They oughta staple his ass to the bench.Bobby Stapleton?
I love that Duran seemed a little charged by that catch.Nice snag by Duran.
I debated Duran but I think Blizzard is slightly faster and Duran would've gotten thrown out in my mental simulation
It was a big moment for all of us.Weak fly ball is a big moment for Dalbec.
Blood on the warning track for Bobby D.Weak fly ball is a big moment for Dalbec.
Suarez? The pitcher? Shit I thought the Angels traded for Daniel Vogelbach and were using him as a mop up guy.Suarez and O'Hoppe seem to be pissed at each other. Good.
I think this is the most insightful Dalbec analysis I have ever read. And I mean that seriously. It makes perfect sense. The thing Dalbec does is he helps you with an obscure baseball rule that can screw you up if you don’t pay attention. Under the rules, you have to bat 9 players. If a guy who batted 7 or 8 players ago comes up, the ump will come out and tell you that you broke the rules. Dalbec helps you go from 8 to 9 so you don’t end up violating that little known rule.
The casual or pink hat fan might say “but like literally anyone could do that.” But that ignores two things. First, not everyone has a uniform. But Bobby has the uniform. Second, it ignores analytics.
