What the fuck with these refs? How is that not interference?

Penalties are not called against the Ravens until Baltimore is safely ahead. Didn't you get the memo?

Terry McCauley is not happy with the officiating crew

GnR’s November Rain earlier, and now Christopher Cross’s Sailing.

Great day for music at the commercial break.

Lamar Jackson is one of the league's best players and six months ago teams were falling over themselves to publicly announce their lack of interest.
Baltimore was always going to match so why would any other team bother. This comes up every time he completes a pass

Have you ever seen teams announce they won't be submitting offers for a player before? That's why it's brought up. And yeah, just make the offer and force their hand, what did teams have to lose? This argument makes zero sense.

The owners are pissed off about the Watson deal and not going to play a stupid game when they know the outcome

So the owners who are starting Desmond Ridder and Mac Jones when they could have pursued Lamar Jackson in order to throw a hissy fit over Deshaun Watson are fucking dumb as shit, especially when Lamar didn't even end up getting full guarantees.

He's exciting to watch and he's a great athlete, but I would not want him as my team's QB. He's not going to last very long and he's not really a very good passer. I wouldn't want to give him $250m.

That’s not the option

It's like every person that works in TV with Jason Garrett knows he's trying to be funny but they pity his complete lack of humor so they're forced to increasingly fake laugh as his attempts continue.

This may all be true.

Garrett is a world class stiff.

Spotting is really getting exposed by high def. I don’t think the refs are bad necessarily — I don’t know how anyone can really do it in real time. But the technology showing us how wrong they are consistently is kind of a bummer.

A truly unbelievable hire by NBC.

Which is a crazy take because he's awesome and he's a mobile QB in a mobile QB league so if you don't want a mobile QB in the NFL in 2023 because of the injury risk you're essentially saying you don't want 70% of the tier-1 QB, plus the money is what it is. You either have a QB on a rookie deal or you pay out the ass.

and 2 1st rounders as compensation. (I still think he might be worth that cost). Winning without a legit QB is really fucking hard.

When Lamar is on the field the Ravens win games at close to the rate of the Brady Patriots and he's the guy their entire offense gravitates around. I don't understand diminishing what he provides a team.

I get that Garrett is a bit stiff, but I honestly don’t mind him and think Collinsworth is overrated. CC’s constant chortling and orgasming get old.

Apparently this otherwise flag-happy league has decided that it’s OK for offensive tackles to consistently get a head start on obvious passing plays.

They are great when he plays, but he misses games, including last year’s playoffs. And in the end, you need to perform in the playoffs. He has been bad. I think there will come a day when we might say “can you believe this guy once was 1-3 in the playoffs,” but right now, he is a great player whose team has won 1 playoff game in his 5+ seasons. He needs to stay healthy and win a playoff game or two this season, and I think the accolades will come.

yeah it's been a year plus, and the reason is obvious... O-lines are getting killed consistently every week and it is getting QBs hit and injured. NFL is searching for ways to help O-lines be less terrible, and one they've settled on is a generous FS (and being on the line) enforcement on OTs.

Too bad Charissa Thompson is not doing this game.

”Mike, during the break, the Ravens’ coach told me, ‘we need to do better on third down,’ and also, ‘my brother is a fucking cheater and mom hates him.’”

Mobile is different than what Lamar does. Mahomes, Burrow, Allen, Hurts, Herbert, etc., are plenty mobile. But they aren't putting themselves at risk a dozen times per game, and they're all much better passers.
