2019 WS. Astros involved in that one also.Would love to know if there’s ever been a 7 game series where no home teams won

Also their park is a joke.Astros need a new park. This home/road split is insane
But, the budget.Eovaldi has won more games in the postseason than Kluber won in the regular season.
Yep.Who starts for Texas tomorrow? Scherzer on a short leash?
100% chance he ends up in the HOFBochy has won 3 WS and 4 pennants as a manager. Yet has a losing record overall, kind of weird. Imagine he ends up in the HOF regardless.
I'll take the over100% chance he ends up in the HOF
So you’re saying there’s a chance100% chance he ends up in the HOF
Scherzer started Game 7 in Houston in that one also.2019 WS. Astros involved in that one also.
Oh man.Eovaldi has won more games in the postseason than Kluber won in the regular season.
I would guess he’ll be first out of the pen, whenever that may be. Back up the righty starter with a leftyApparently, Jordan Montgomery will be available out of the bullpen tonight for the Rangers. If circumstances present themselves, when would you use him ... to follow Scherzer? ... in the eighth? ... as the closer?
OK, we all know that Eovaldi turned down an offer and when he came back the Sox had moved on. Kluber was still a giant mistake but not because they chose him over Kluber. But, the budget.
But why did Jay Payton sign here?OK, we all know that Eovaldi turned down an offer and when he came back the Sox had moved on. Kluber was still a giant mistake but not because they chose him over Kluber.
You know I had that joke all ready and warmed up for a very recent thread and then I saw the last post was two days old so I did not post it. Has to be one my all tie favorite SOSH "inside jokes". And I actually got corrected at least twice back in the day.But why did Jay Payton sign here?
Because the Sox gave him an opt out.But why did Jay Payton sign here?
Seems risky, but I suppose no less risky than Scherzer. 2 days' rest after 85 pitches. 1 relief appearance in his career. It seems like these short-rest starters turned relievers fail more often than they succeed. (Although there are obviously some notable successes).Apparently, Jordan Montgomery will be available out of the bullpen tonight for the Rangers. If circumstances present themselves, when would you use him ... to follow Scherzer? ... in the eighth? ... as the closer?
It's quality hatewatching. I'm rooting for pulled hammies.I keep thinking about TEX/HOU game 5, and I keep liking it more. I love that guy pimping his tater. I love it. I love that the Astros plunked him straight away. I love that he lost his shit. I loved the benches clearing. I loved the comeback. I thought I hated the Astros. I do hate the Astros, but I love everything about that game, about that particular exchange of unpleasantries. I can't help but pull for the Astros now, and I still want them to lose the series. It's great. It's perfect baseball.
Preach.I had a really busy weekend and didn't see Game 5 or any real-time conversation about it here, but I'm fairly certain if I was a neutral observer and had watched it play out, I'd have had the opposite take – the Astros trying to make themselves the judge, jury and executioner of playing baseball the right way if so @#%$'ing ironic that they deserve to lose in the most painful way possible.
Full disclosure: I almost used that line a week or two ago in this thread when somebody was lamenting Nate’s departure, but just didn’t get around to it. But you teed it up perfectly for meYou know I had that joke all ready and warmed up for a very recent thread and then I saw the last post was two days old so I did not post it. I thought those only benefitted the team?Because the Sox gave him an opt out.
Honestly, I figured it was coming. Glad to tee it up as I think this joke will never get old (I'm not getting any younger and I still make the same Dad Jokes to my not so young kids so...)Full disclosure: I almost used that line a week or two ago in this thread when somebody was lamenting Nate’s departure, but just didn’t get around to it. Had the Rangers beaned Bautista in his first at bat when they met the next season, I would have been oddly OK with it (despite the fact that I don't feel throwing a 95 MPH ball at someone on purpose is actually acceptable any time). But they waited until his final at bat in the 3rd game (or 4th, I forget) and had some kid throw at him. However, upon further contemplation, the Rangers having a similar reaction to the Blue Jays and Bautista a few years ago levels the hatred a bit.
