As it happens, all could be true in this situation, although I think the third option is the correct response.
I’m surprised the good folks at the Quikrete company have a big enough marketing budget to buy a patch on the Braves’ uniforms. It’s a perfectly cromulent product, but there aren’t many competitors, and it’s not like anyone will be inspired by the ad to pour a foundation they weren’t otherwise going to pour.
The Orioles have the elaborate Maryland flag patch, I think. And now the number 5 for Brooks Robinson.
That's what I noticed today. Thought for a second that the flag patch was an ad, then I realized it was the flag of Maryland.

I still find it crazy a sport like baseball has 3 and 5 game series in the playoffs while playing 162 games in the regular season.
Even the best teams are usually just 60/40 favorites, really should all be best of 7. Make the regular season a few games shorter, come on.

I agree. The first round being three is fine, but it should be seven for all the other series.
Those Gillette ads mention the word “pubic” twice which seems like a record for a national TV commercial
There's still logistical challenges with the bye teams getting too rusty, I think.
Ideally they would lower the regular season to 154, have 5 game WC series and all 7 game series after, even with the logistics.
Nothing will change though due to owners and money.
The Dodgers have a "what Kershaw will you get" and a bunch of question marks in that rotation. This series could get interesting quickly, but it's also the way you'd think Arizona would have to win it as the rest of these Dodgers are top-tier.
I definitely have less issue with the Wild Card best of 3, those teams are in the Wild Card for a reason and had their chance at a bye.
But a sport like baseball being best of 5 in the quarterfinals (while basketball is best of 7 for example) makes zero sense if you want fairness and the best teams to win more often.
The first I ran across that ad was a real "this is not the world I grew up in" moment.
Who painted the batter's box in LA? It looks like someone took a can of spray paint and totally half assed it.

I miss the days when mlb playoffs had non stop ED ads that evaded actually stating what the pills were for. And used innuendoes instead
It's interesting to see which playoff teams benefitted the most from the great Mets selloff.
