No idea why they love showing Brian Harman as much as they do. I feel like he's gotten more air time in the last 12 months than any other player on major Thursday and Fridays. And then he disappears.

The telecast loves the short kings.

Rooting for Rickie is unfamiliar territory.
It's definitely been a pretty long time since he's been on a leaderboard in a major.

edit - in fact, Rickie has played is only 5 majors (out of 11) since the start of 2021, missing the Masters and US Open the last three years. He finished 2nd in the Masters in 2018 and 9th in 2019 and then blanked in 21, 22, and 23.

I’ve never been a huge fan but I always kind of pull for guys who lose it so to speak but work their way back to relevance. He could’ve said “fuck it” last year and cashed in with LIV but has stuck it out. Good to see him get rewarded by playing well this year and week.

I've always liked Rickie. It's kind of crazy he's been on the tour since 2009.

His 2022 was a true disaster but he's been solid in 2023. And it is very cool that he kept grinding, trying to get back to the form he had when he was top 5 in every major in 2014. Golf is funny. From 2nd in the Masters to out of the tourney in a few years.

But right now, Rickie is dialed in with the irons, everything is going to 3 feet.

I’m kind of surprised the leaders are going at 6:40 eastern time. Say they play in 4.5 hours, that’s 8:10pm pacific. It won’t be too dark?

Insanely late start by the leaders today. Kind of shocking, no idea what NBC is doing with this round finish after 11pm EDT.

Thursday I mentioned how the course was playing easy. I take it all back. Last night was fun - I love to watch challenging hikes that have a myriad of different ways to play them. It’s fun to see each golfer use different approaches, and a less than 100 yard hole where a double bogey is very possible is great. It’s not fun watching everyone suck, but challenging courses are awesome.

It really is fun watching guys have to think their way around a course as opposed to the popular “hit it as far as I can, find it, and hit it again” method

Not a huge fan of 15. Think we’re just going to see a bunch of shots 20 feet left and 2 putts.
That seems to be the play. It might have been worth using that pin tomorrow instead hoping some players would be in a position where they needed to shoot at it.

I do love well protected short par 3's though. They can really expose players wedge games when they're well protected.
