I'll come clean and say I am very happy about that bogey. I also like a chaotic Sunday, with as many golfers as possible. Already, it's looking like it'll only be a couple of players involved tomorrow.

Because it would be the golf story of the decade. Tiger Woods in his first healthy major tournament in years has a five shot lead going into Sunday?

Instead it’s just Patrick Reed, known asshole and cheat, has a five shot lead heading into Sunday.
Sorry - I was thinking more about old Tiger than new Tiger in asking that question. You might be right if you're talking about this year's Tiger.

That said, Reed's dominance over the past two days has been very Tiger-like. In general, everyone seems to celebrate Tiger when he's dominating and gets upset when anyone else dominates, which I've always found to be somewhat strange. (I'm firmly on Team Chaos no matter who is leading, FWIW.)

I don't think you guys need to worry. Tomorrow will be chaotic, especially if the course dries out and the wind picks up. There is no other place on Earth harder to hold a lead than it is there. The sphincters tighten, the golf Gods get their revenge and the shit hits the fan.

I really expected at least one blow up hole from Reed. A double here or a triple. Something to bring him back to earth, but to his credit he has played nearly perfect.

I’d like to see Reed win. I can’t understand why people dislike him after the Ryder cup. Him going head to head with Rory tomorrow will be great theater.
I expect Rickie to melt like he usually does in majors but hopefully Rahm or someone in the -6 grouping can get hot and make it a little more exciting.

Reed and Rory in the last group is going to be something else. A rematch of the epic match at Hazeltine.

The cheating stories and general douchebaginess from his college days turn me off him except for 1 weekend every other year.

He is a loud, portly, asshole who seemingly defines himself by his love for America. He is far removed from what you expect a PGA star to be. I love the variety and him being outside the mold.

He also bends his hat brim. Having a straight brim is such an offense that I write those guys off immediately.

Andy Brickley's potty mouth
Sleeping on a 54 hole lead at Augusta tends to make the immortal, mortal. Three strokes is nothing, especially if there is a 2 shot swing early on the front 9. The front 9 on Sunday is usually pretty brutal. I think Rory has a great shot, it'll all depend on his putter. Reed is a much better putter, so he has an advantage, but if anyone can do it, it's Rory.

The cheating stories (also mentioned by Zomp) give me great pause. If true, he deserves all the scorn he gets. However, the stories have always struck me as a specifics-free smear campaign conducted by the enemies he made in college. I'm unaware of any allegations of cheating as a pro.

In a lot of ways, the stories about Reed remind me of how pros treated Ben Crenshaw when he came on tour. Crenshaw was a dominant amateur and won his first tournament as a pro. But he was not popular and stories (without any names behind them) of cheating in college were everywhere. And eventually Crenshaw evolved into a beloved figure and guardian of the traditions of the game.

I'll repeat what I said earlier - I like the fearlessness of Reed's game and his talent is immense. I am aware that he was somewhat toxic in college, but he seems to have grown out of it. The cheating allegations will always be what stops me from being a full-on fan.
