Sources: Detroit sending forward Marcus Morris to Boston for guard Avery Bradley.[/QUOTEstra
This is the wrong thread, but they will probably re-sign him. They had to waive him to have space for the Tim Hardaway offer sheet. Once that is done they can just bring him back at the cost of the extra $100K.
Knicks plan to waive Plumlee...
(Edit for clarity)
What do you think of this deal? Complete home run, right? At this point I think I'd happily do Crowder for Hayward S&T and swap rights in any of the next three years with top 10 protection or something.
I have to admit I'm surprised Danny didn't have something better lined up. I know that it's easy to be a homer but I really feel like the rest of the league is looking at the Celtics and saying "I'm only dealing with you if I can claim I won the trade."
Amfox, you are the best at this type of stuff so I am going to pose this question to you.Once (1) the Bradley-Morris trade is finalized, (2) Green, Jerebko and Young are renounced and (3) Yabusele agrees to be stashed overseas for another year, BOS will have $97.15mm in contracts for 17-18 and will be $1.94mm under the cap.
BOS can then sign Theis and Green to minimum contracts and will still have the $4.32mm room exception. Not sure what this means for Nader. Ojaleye is likely getting one of the two-way spots, with one of Bird/Allen getting the other.
I still think there's a good chance Crowder is traded, which may change things slightly.
Underrated aspect of this move. Not that Yabusele is ready to be an impact player, but from an agent/player/Ainge relationship standpoint, this adds (or at least doesn't detract) value in the coming years while the Celtics will be making extra mid-to-late 1st rd picks (LAC, MEM, + their own) which could easily be earmarked for more stash players.
I think this is the approach we take. Yabu didn't seem interested at all in playing overseas again.
Or more likely there was not much to the "Crowder to UTA" thing and Ainge was just using it as leverage against other teams. The Jazz blew this. I suspect the Celtics wanted something else back (Favors?) and the Jazz balked.
I'm sure Boston would love Mitchell, so the Jazz can always talk to Boston in a few months when Mitchell's eligible to be moved. I suspect that Denver is also going to make some enquiries given that their SF makes Avery Bradley look like an iron man.If Utah really likes Crowder they can always work out a separate deal from him. The sign and trade only made sense if Boston wasn't finding any decent trade partners, but since they did the talks probably fizzled.
Would do Mitchell for Crowder in a second.I'm sure Boston would love Mitchell, so the Jazz can always talk to Boston in a few months when Mitchell's eligible to be moved. I suspect that Denver is also going to make some enquiries given that their SF makes Avery Bradley look like an iron man.
Utah, not doing that.Would do Mitchell for Crowder in a second.
Agreed. Just looked up Alec Burks' salary. Yikes.Utah, not doing that.
I'd be really surprised if Ojeleye got a two-way deal. I'd say it's more likely they use part of their room exception to lock him up longer than two years, than sign him to a two-way deal.Once (1) the Bradley-Morris trade is finalized, (2) Green, Jerebko and Young are renounced and (3) Yabusele agrees to be stashed overseas for another year, BOS will have $97.15mm in contracts for 17-18 and will be $1.94mm under the cap.
