No I did not, but now I wish I did!You didn't hear the awesome story from the other day? One of my favorite things of the year.
God I hate the Yankees. I swear it's been YEARS since I've felt that way.Dillon Tate for Beltran? Wow that's a huge get for 2 months of Beltran.

Let's just hope all these awesome prospects don't pan out for the Yankees. I would really hate to have to go back to watching them in the World Series almost ever year.Dillon Tate for Beltran? Wow that's a huge get for 2 months of Beltran.
I agreeGod I hate the Yankees. I swear it's been YEARS since I've felt that way.
You've got to be kidding me?Ken Rosenthal @Ken_Rosenthal ·
Tate was the #Rangers’ first-round pick, fourth overall, in the 2015 draft. He would head to #Yankees in Beltran deal.
I was in LA for work and was staying at Sox hotel. Was sitting next to DD, Wren and Hazen at the hotel Starbucks. Quite a morning! No I did not, but now I wish I did!
Was coming to post exact same thought. He's maneuvered brilliantly since his arrival in identifying his target and moving quickly before the market got heated.Dombrowski deserves a lot of credit for moving quickly pre-deadline on both Pomeranz and Ziegler.
That's what Eduardo Perez was guessing would happen on ESPN earlier today. Collect the prospects, then send 'em to the White Sox for Sale. Sign Chapman in the offseason and they've got a powerful 1-2 in the rotation and bullpen. You've got to be kidding me?
The Yankees are going to end up with Sale aren't they?
Why dude? You realize all the High A prospect they've gotten over the last couple of weeks could flame out, yeah?God I hate the Yankees. I swear it's been YEARS since I've felt that way.
It's like when George died the one year the estate tax wasn't in play. The Yankees, who hasn't been sellers in 100 years, just lucked into being sellers in the best selling market we can remember.
What a haul, they're absolutely loaded with minor league equity now.
There for the taking. Add his and AB's bats to the lineup.Really wondering about Lucroy now. Seems as though the Mets, Rangers and Indians have all went elsewhere. Who else was interested in him?
As of right now the Sox still have more valuable prospect capital, just not as much of it.Imagine how awful we're going to feel when Bryce Harper or Paul Goldschmidt goes on the block and the Yankees have more prospect capital than we do.
How are they getting more than the #69 ranked prospect according to BA for 2 months of Carlos Beltran? This is easily the worst trade this year.Jeff Passan @JeffPassan 1m1 minute ago
In Carlos Beltran deal, Rangers sending more to Yankees than Dillon Tate.
Getting Beltran gives the Rangers breathing room if they trade Gallo in a Lucroy dealReally wondering about Lucroy now. Seems as though the Mets, Rangers and Indians have all went elsewhere. Who else was interested in him?
It also stinks that they are unloading helpful pieces to every contending team that the Sox would have to compete with this year. The Yankees, who hasn't been sellers in 100 years, just lucked into being sellers in the best selling market we can remember.

Yankees just became the top farm system in baseball. I can assure you that Sale will be wearing pinstripes at some point. Tate and others for 2 months of freaking Beltran?!!!Jeff Passan @JeffPassan 1m1 minute ago

Of course, I follow prospects pretty closely. But they got all of this by trading RPs and they will probably re-sign Chapman anyway. I enjoyed it more when they sucked AND had no future. Why dude? You realize all the High A prospect they've gotten over the last couple of weeks could flame out, yeah?
Looking at overall body of work. Cashner has never completed a full season of even being a good starting pitcher. For the love of God yes, I'm not sure what you're not getting. He;s relegated to mop up duty. And there was talk that they shopped him to the Marlins and the Marlins preferred Cashner. So I don't understand what you're not getting, other than just being a homer.
we have one game left with Cleveland, none with Rangers, obviously none with Cubs. take your chances in the playoffs if we get there. It also stinks that they are unloading helpful pieces to every contending team that the Sox would have to compete with this year.
I think its borderline necessary good luck getting through that Tex lineup if they add him on top of BeltranReally wondering about Lucroy now. Seems as though the Mets, Rangers and Indians have all went elsewhere. Who else was interested in him?
This, I agree with. I still think Ben must have been operating with instructions that he couldn't load the system and needed guys who were "ready."Yankees deadline just makes me think back to our '14 deadline and it couldn't be more of a contrast.
Great point and so very true.Yankees deadline just makes me think back to our '14 deadline and it couldn't be more of a contrast.
And it isn't like he's been exactly lighting the world on fire in high A either. At this point, he's a name on a list with potential. I'm not losing any sleep over Tate. Why dude? You realize all the High A prospect they've gotten over the last couple of weeks could flame out, yeah?
Jim Callis and Jonathan Mayo both said that yesterday, before this Beltran trade. Their new rankings come out Wednesday, after this all settles.Wait, are people seriously saying the Yankees have the best farm system in baseball now? I mean, that's a freaking gigantic leap for one deadline.
Yeah and supposedly there are a couple other pieces to the deal.Tate's stock has definitely dropped some in 2016. The preseason reports may be a bit optimistic. He's not out of high school so he's got to show some progress pretty quickly.
That's still a lot to give up though for 60 games of a DH.
I don't think they have a single prospect on the level of any of the Sox top 3. They got several good prospects. This isn't the second coming of Jeter, Posada, Rivera and Pettite.Wait, are people seriously saying the Yankees have the best farm system in baseball now? I mean, that's a freaking gigantic leap for one deadline.
You should look at Cashner's 2013, which is much more recent and relevant than Clay's 2010. Both are the only such season for either player and Cashner hasn't completely shit the bed this year. Teams are looking for players to help them right now and I hate to break it to you but Clay doesn't offer anything to a contender. Guys like Cashner and Will Smith do. If they DFA'ed Clay right now, I'd bet dollars to donuts he'd pass waivers.Looking at overall body of work. Cashner has never completed a full season of even being a good starting pitcher.
High A? He is one year removed from the draft. He isn't quite in Troy Ball territory as an impending bust here. And it isn't like he's been exactly lighting the world on fire in high A either. At this point, he's a name on a list with potential. I'm not losing any sleep over Tate.
I don't fear them maturing into a super team, as I think a lot of these guys are far enough away and none are studs. I do, however, fear Cashman packaging a bunch of them and overpaying for a Sale or similar trade acquisition before they flame out. Give the guy credit, he generally does well in moving overhyped prospects for value before they show their warts. Why dude? You realize all the High A prospect they've gotten over the last couple of weeks could flame out, yeah?
You really think that was an accident? It's like when George died the one year the estate tax wasn't in play.
Yeah there is no way the Yankees are waiting for a bunch of single A prospects to mature before becoming competitive again. A lot of these guys are going to be flipped for major league ready talent. Probably in the offseason when the asking prices are lower.I don't fear them maturing into a super team, as I think a lot of these guys are far enough away and none are studs.
