For those of us out of the loop, why does Guzan start over Howard? Age?
Howard lost his job after sitting out a year for the USMNT, and a bad year at Everton.

Guzan was good the past couple of games but his positioning always sucks IMO

He's always struck me as a fine ball stopper, and not so good elsewhere. That goal was grade school bad.

I can't describe how much worse Bradley has looked for the NT since he moved back to the MLS.

We just look so incredibly slow. Everyone is outpaced, nobody on Argentina are worried about being beaten for pace. Theoretically, Yedlin would scare them but good luck getting him forward anyway. Beckerman, Bradley, Zusi just can't keep up.

Yep, going to be impossible to string anything together when the ball inevitably has to go through these guys.

That's what happens when you start players in their 30s. I think JK likes older players cause they are just grateful he lets then play.

It's Argentina. No matter what happens the rest of this game, even if we somehow pull it out, we will look outclassed, slower, lesser skilled.

I feel like the Wondo selection is a weird fuck you to MLS by Jurgen. Like... look at this incompetent fuck he's one of your league's best scorers.

Yes, of course. But you probably need to play people who can at least cope with the pace of the match even if less skilled.

From our perspective, the one consolation is that I've watched a full season of Otamendi and I know he hasa crazy mistake in him. A cagey vet like Dempsey can certainly do him.

The last time Clint Dempsey's name was mentioned was during the lineups.
