The big winner tonight was vegas books. Something like 93% of the $$ was on Carolina.
For all the talk about the nfl influencing the refs it could well come from the only place less scrupulous.

Carolina got Denvered. Broncos easily the best team in the league.

Of course, everyone on SOSH feels they won't win their first preseason game next year!

I can't believe I'm saying this but the Pats might have beat this Carolina team easier than they would have beat the Bears when Manning won his first one. Woulda, coulda, shoulda

Congratulations Denver Broncos. Their defense was amazing. Manning has killed us so many times that I am a bit sick to my stomach right now but he is a true champion and one of the greatest of all time.

58 days to Opening Day. Go Red Sox!

Let's get TB a 5th ring this time next year, yeah?

There's no justice in a world where Ray Lewis and Peyton Manning can retire on Super Bowl wins and Brady can't. Please open the checkbook for the next few years Pats.

He isn't even happy, I don't blame him. Probably tough to feel like you were a big part of given how poorly he played.
Yeah have to imagine it feels better down the road when looking at his career as a whole. I'm sure winning is great, but for a guy that competitive who was so good for so long has to be painful to be what he is now.

...and so Peyton, with his second SB ring, Papa John franchises, Nationwide Insurance agencies and probable Budweiser distributorships (after telling the CBS chick that he plans on drinking a lot of Budwesier tonight), went on to live happily ever after.

Whatever they needed they got this year. Made their own breaks. The Manning thing is a red herring -- Denver's defense and special teams were unbelievable and they are deserving champs.

Exactly.

I can tell he's forcing this, and I don't blame him.

5 years from now he won't give a shit when he's getting $10M a year from NBC or FOX and deservedly basking in his marvelous career.

Upon some further reflection it is fitting for Manning to have a team finally carry him after many of those Indy teams where he carried mediocre teams to Division Titles.

I thought even Peyton Manning fans gave up on this idea last year.
It's going to be back now for sure. Two rings, more playoff wins head to head against Brady, (for now) better regular season stats. You'll hear it in different circles and the reality is the two players are both all time greats and pretty close in value

Guarantee Manning doesn't drink one Budweiser tonight. Maybe takes a few sips, gets some poured on him. He'll probably drink a glass of Zinfandel late night.

Let's not get carried away guys. The Denver D was good not great. Don't understate just how bad Carolina shot themselves in the foot tonight.

I hear you, but this year shouldn't have changed things at all. He probably should have been watching the SB from the bench.

Final
13-23, 141, 0, 1, fumble lost

And as Van Everyman pointed out, from the NYT:

"Led by quarterback Peyton Manning and a stingy defense, the Denver Broncos won the 50th Super Bowl on Sunday with a 24-10 upset victory over the Carolina Panthers at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif."

MVP! MVP!

Manning: 1 intereception, 2 fumbles, 0 touchdowns and 141 yards passing. Yet somehow you know this victory will end up being credited to him..
