You could give Minnesota ten tries to get 50 yards right now and they wouldn't be able to do it. Better team won this one. One team was capable of getting a TD one wasn't and that's that.
They have to hope for a break. A fumble recovery or a pick. They aren't moving the ball, even if they get it back.
On the busted play, Wilson even threw back across his body somewhat, usually a no-no. He's something like a guy that used to run around a lot in Minnesota, Fran Tarkenton. Wilson may turn out better.
I kind of disagree with Al. Calling the TO there before the 2:00 warning gives Seattle no downside if they want to try a pass. Now there is a downside.
Would have let Wilson throw a pass. Now he still might, but you wouldn't have to use your second TO if it's incomplete.
It's more efficient to not call a TO under about 2:08 and save it for after the 2-minute warning.
I guess because Seattle may be more likely to run it on this 3rd Down after the 2 minute warning instead of immediately preceding.
Yeah, the Vikings punted on first down to avoid the possibility of a turnover.
