Horrible coaching there
I thought for sure he was going to throw a pick once they got in range and he was just heaving it up there, but close enough. Before the last play I muttered to myself that they should just kick it right then and not risk it.

What were they hoping to do on third down there? So many bad possibilities and very little upside. Sack ends the game. Pick ends the game. Completed pass in bounds probably ends the game -- you can't even clock it unless you get 10 yards because it will be fourth down and if you do get 10 yards you will never make it upfield in time to clock anyway. If you take a penalty you make the kick harder. The only plus options are an out of bound play or TD. The latter is unlikely. The former needs perfect execution and probably is a throw away in almost all circumstances.

There are only a small handful of QBs in the league who I would trust in that situation when you're already in FG range. 2015 Bridgewater doesn't even sniff the list.

Bridgewater really is a terrible QB. GJGE, Vikings.
I can't put that on Teddy. His coach has to know they don't have the weapons to do something on 3rd down, 13 secs left, no TOs, and just in FG range. Just kick the damn ball.

The Vikings are in a unique position where by FAR their best player on offense will not get the ball at all in the situation they started that drive in. How many other teams in the league would that apply to?

All that stuff about his coach applies, but that's still something a QB should know not to do. If the first read isn't there get rid of the ball.

Definitely a mistake but he did an awesome job getting them down there in the first place. Mistakes happen even with the great ones (see Brady last Sunday).

If the kid files this away it's only going to make him better.

Still think these guys will be a tough first round matchup for whomever they face.

The Vikings lost all three of their fumbles, gave up 3 points because a play that's usually called a fumble was called down by contact (you couldn't say one way or the other based on the replay), and gave up a crucial 3rd down conversion that led to a TD because someone fell down. And they lost by 3 on the road against one of the league's best teams.

TBW made a bad play at the end, but you can't beat him up too much. His team played a good game against a good team and came up just short. It happens.

Maybe I'm not understanding what you mean... wouldn't that apply to every team in history during a 2-minute drill whose best offensive player is their RB? That is hardly unique.

I don't know how anyone puts that on the QB there. He'd already scrambled twice to just barely get away on first and second. So now on third Arizona knows that he's throwing and that he doesn't have enough time to go deep and is looking to try and throw to the sidelines as there's no time to go to the middle of the field. There's really no negative at all for Arizona to go all out blitz in that situation. Vikings were already in field goal range..already knew a pass was unlikely to get them closer and that all they needed was a FG to tie. NE and BB would kick the FG on third down just to make sure they got it off. There's no downside to kicking the FG and there's virtually no upside to passing there.

Bengals drive back down the field after the Pitt TD only to have Dalton throw a pick on the screen from the 5 yard line.

It's so Browns that their first drive today resulted in another blocked field goal. No runback this time, though.

Cleveland rebounds to take a 7-0 lead

If Dalton is already ruled out, he probably broke his thumb. Horrible break for the Bengals.

This is a really dirty game in Cincy. Lots of low hits, punches, braws, etc.

Hey Tomlin, the starting QB is out, how about you get your team under control and focus on winning.

Eifert headed to locker room.
