I used Hulu Live last year. Looks like that would be less expensive than this, albeit slightly, but no red zone or out of market games that aren't prime.

But - I did take a grad class just a week ago so I have a student email that was verified. I wonder if this $119 is without youtubetv? I don't want youtube tv. Waste of money. If so, that's a steal.

edit: actually called and youtube said it was just the 119 flat fee with no youtube tv. Wow.

Correct.

@DourDoerr, my plan is to sit down once the 2nd slot afternoon games begin, wait a little while (10 minutes after final whistle is when games are up), & then pull up the game. Avoiding spoilers & setting up the settings to not show the score work in favour here. Then I can be all caught up by the evening (assuming mostly noon start-times) & paying a fraction of the cost, lol.
@Jake Peavy's Demons - it sounds like you have a way that'd work well for me too. Two questions, if you don't mind: are you out of market too? Which plan are you using to do this?

No worries, yes, I too am out-of-market, and my plan is NFL+ Premium.

As fate would have it, with the maps coming out on The 506, I'll actually get the Pats game in the late afternoon, as I'm in the market, so Week 1 (for me, at least) is a bit moot.

Thanks @Jake Peavy's Demons - I signed up for that same plan. It looks good and I like the access to the All-22 later. I don't mind the delay in seeing a game (if I was away I was watching several games hours later anyway), so I think it's going to work well. Appreciate the help..

Cheers -- just don't forget to turn off the scores in the setting section to avoid spoilers!

With Directv, I can channel surf between games and the Red Zone channel. How will that work on YouTube? Open multiple browser windows, each signed into my YouTube account?

I'm sure every game will be on a specific, individual channel. So you would change the channel how you change any channel on Youtube TV.

After I wrote that, Youtube TV sent an email and it said they are going to pin every Sunday Ticket NFL game on the home screen, along with the option to do the 4 screen split. So every game will be on the "Home" and you can move around that way, whether it's a streaming box or a computer.

So living in the NYC-metro viewing area, I realized that I am good through Week 4 with my YTTV. Game 1 is national game for this area; Game 2 is SNF; Game 3 is vs the Jets; and G4 against the Cowboys will almost certainly be the national game, even here.
Weeks 5-9 might be bad, but then G10 is a London game. Then in the latter part of the season, there is game vs Giants, 3 night games, and one more against the Jets.
So without spending any money, I probably get 10 of the 17 with no issue.

My local spot to go catch the occasional interesting out of market game still has direct TV, and most of their HDTV’s are not smart. Sounds like they’re not going to bother with either upgrading all the TVs, or getting several streaming devices. They’ll probably be fine with the Pats, national games, and whatever else the local affiliates are airing. But there has to be significant disruption nationally to places with the change over to streaming.

Bars will still be getting Sunday Ticket through DirecTV

Ah ok, thanks. I thought the change over to YTTV was across the board. I know the general manager pretty well, and she was unsure about that, and wasn’t getting much guidance from ownership(it’s small, local chain). I’ll have to let her know if she doesn’t already.

Thanks. I should be able to figure that out.

Yeah, same. Downloaded the YouTube TV app and it’s just giving me a “Let’s try that again” error. Hopefully they can sort it out in the next 45 minutes…

So, I am watching on a smart tv (Sony) logged into the YouTube. It looks like my local games are not available through Sunday Ticket. To get those, I need to change inputs on the tv to my direct box, and then when I go back, it takes a long time to log back into the youtube app. Has to be a better way. I want to toggle between local game and red zone.

Not a short term solution but having an external Roku or something would let you toggle the input without the Youtube app closing on you. Sounds like your Sony smart tv is too smart.

I’d also authorize a second tv to be set up in the room.

Thanks for this post. Didn’t even know internal Rokus exist

Google seems to be stealing the built-in option these days which is a shame because the built-in Roku OS is spectacular.

Does anyone know if you can move which game shows where in the Quad box? Like upper left is the Vikings game on the app version?

Thanks. Ok, I will work on it during the week. I can watch the local games on iPad for now.

So, when I have quad boxes on and the red zone channel is showing one of the games on race it is very delayed.

Hard to tell if it’s the same on all the various channels within YouTubeTV, but I’m getting much larger volume increases for commercials then even the amplification I’m used to. Like, it’s way too much. Anyone else getting this?

You can't choose the games in the quad boxes. Google said something like, "It would require 10x the bandwidth to allow people to customize."

Same for the college games, too. You get the quad you get.

Right, if course. But that’s why I specified louder than usual. Like, is it even more so on YouTubeTV? And is it the same differential on all the different feeds?

The sound toggling between games interface is great though.

Is there a reason why the NE/PHI game isn't an option on Sunday Ticket? I thought they showed every game.
