I mean, I know what he was TRYING to do.One of the dumbest plays I’ve ever seen.
Stepping out of bounds?Football has some dumb rules. You have to know them and execute them but that is kind of dumb how that works out.
Agree, but not sure that’s one of them. If a ball isn’t possessed in bounds then it’s out of bounds is a pretty consistent rule across game scenarios, it just plays out oddly in this case.Football has some dumb rules. You would think that wouldnt show up in the first quarterRaiders look like a team that played a really tiring game on Sunday night, traveled cross country and are playing on short rest
I don’t know how your statement applies hereFootball has some dumb rules. You have to know them and execute them but that is kind of dumb how that works out.
Too soonSo this is how the Pats vs the Bears in 85 was like?
I disagree. Pissed me off when they put him ahead of Rodney in pregame analysis. Also, Collinsworth is the best color guy in football, to me. He points out, and they show in replay, more stuff that we can't see in regular camera coverage than anyone else.Drew Brees doing a decent job on color. Like him better than Collinsworth.
Don’t think so. Carr was first touched clearly outside of the EZthat must've missed being a safety by a few inches.
I agree. Not really that closeDon’t think so. Carr was first touched clearly outside of the EZ
Not sure. I had a procedure to erase everything after Franklin's FG.So this is how the Pats vs the Bears in 85 was like?
just let’s these guys play. That was a normal no call.push off by Chase. Clear.
No call. The NFL loves the Burrow and hates Gruden.
I believe he's saying that the rule where a kickoff violation is called if the returner steps out of bounds and grabs the ball in bounds is dumb and weird. That's obviously what the Raiders' returner was trying to do, but he messed up the order of operations.I don’t know how your statement applies here
That's a big win to end up yielding just 6 points on those two possessionsRaiders D keeping the team in this right now. Huge stops.
Me too, looked like he couldn’t get down.Thought his hip and knee were going to implode on that tackle.
I think I wouldn’t be ok being down ten against Cincy no matter the context.Considering how much Cincy has dominated this game, I think I’d be ok with only being down 10 if I were a Raiders fan.

I don’t feel strongly but I see no problem with saying that it is only a penalty if the ball goes out of bounds. They can make the rules whatever they like.I don’t know how your statement applies here
It really is a big deal that the NFL hasn't focused their attention on this issue.I don’t feel strongly but I see no problem with saying that it is only a penalty if the ball goes out of bounds. They can make the rules whatever they like.
if a kicker is good enough to put the ball near the sideline but not over it and not a touchback then I think the result should be what we saw on the play. Make the defender make a tough choice. Don’t make it a penalty if he steps out of bounds but the ball otherwise stays in bounds.
We should try to encourage exciting plays. The kicking team has a chance to try to pin the defense deep on what is usually a boring play but it takes a risk of kicking it out of bounds. Making it a penalty if the player acts quickly and extends out of bounds sucks.
I agree the player here made a terrible play because of what the rule is but I wish instead that was just a good kick.
