What is this, a Cubs/Mets/Padres Board?
My fellow SoSHer’s, I believe the time has come to change the name of this site to the Sons of Jerome Walton, Ed Kranepool or Bip Roberts. A site where I used to find insightful and thoughtful baseball posts (along with some pretty funny stuff) has become a board where there are massive numbers of people posting about things we know little about and offering it up as gospel. Members are posting and reposting, arguing and counter-arguing their points ad nauseam. In order to find useful and perceptive information requires wading through some pretty terrible swill regarding trading parts of or even the entire team, what the front office did or did not do, that evil Lucchino character, even whether or not the front office is committed to winning.Cripes, the Sox won't have enough money to pay anyone in order to cover all the assistant GM's here.
The last time I checked, this ownership group presided over the revitalization of Fenway and built three World Series Champion teams—not too shabby. I venture to say that 29 other teams would like to trade places with the Sox if given the opportunity.
What the fuck happened to the SoSH I used to know? Where’s the spirit? Where’s the guts? ‘Oh, we’re afraid the Sox might not have a good season or might lose Lester, we might be sad.’ Well, just kiss my ass from now on! Maddon? He’s a dead man! Girardi, dead! Showalter….
Come on people—keep calm and Red Sox on! Who's with me?
