I thought the same thing but figured I was biased

And how are the Browns going to find a way to blow a 20-7 lead?
Similar to the non-call on targeting in last night's Texas-Baylor game. If you want to eliminate these hits from the game, you've got to apply the rules in this area without favor or exception.

Part of me likes the no-call there (even though, like you, I'm rooting for Seattle), but that's not what needs to happen from a safety standpoint.

Gannon has called a few Jets games and he hates Fitzpatrick. It seems like he is going to come out of the booth and QB the Jets if he just gets the call

I assumed Mark Ingram was hurt.
Nope.
Sean Peyton is just a terrible coach. Benched his best RB by far for a fumble, to replace with a guy who fumbles twice as frequently over their careers.

"Whole 9 yards" is a military expression. Something to do with artillery.
It isn't. The origin is unknown, but it's assumed to be related to the expression the whole ball of wax, which originated in the same region (the midwest).

Gailey calls some of the worst fucking plays I've ever seen. He's generally ok but he has some real garbage mixed in.

One of the more believable is that it came from WWI and refers to the length of British machine gun ammo belts.

Helmet to helmet no call in Oak/TB
Good to see the NFL remains consistently inconsistent

TB butchered that. Left tons of time and Oakland only needs like 15 yards from FG range.
Edit- Oakland with terrible clock management too.

It's first written use was in Indiana at the dawn of the 20th century. So it couldn't be from WWI. In Kentucky the similar phrase the whole ball of wax traces to the late 19th century, so it's assumed they're related. But the simple truth is that no one really knows how someone came to replace the ball of wax with nine yards.

Per peeve: aren't officials supposed to spot the ball where the QB begins his slide? Matty Ice should've been marked at least a yard shy of the sticks there.
