Last week's barnburner had an O/U of 38.5 and they managed to stay SIXTEEN AND A HALF points short of it.

This week somehow has 2 worse teams and the number I saw last night is 39.

So, ya take the under.

Goff looks like a totally different QB under McVay

Hoyer still looks like Hoyer under Shanny Jr

Advantage, McVay

Is it possible for five minutes of football to more perfectly encapsulate what the NFL has become?

First, Gurley looks to be close to a TD, but there is no automatic challenge, because you only get that if the call is TD on the field. Then you get a roughing the QB on a play that could go either way and 10 refs could see and 5 would call it one way and five the other. Then you get a challenge on a blown call, and a commercial, and a review, and then sitting around while they figure out how to mark the ball and add the 15 yards.

And all that on a game that's being played on a Thursday between two shitty teams in front of a crappy ref that gives the appearance of being unqualified to officiate a playground dispute in tetherball.

In honor of the Rams' lovely color splashes, the refs are throwing a yellow flag every other play for this quarter.

I think a penalty like that should result in a TD. Any way they could do that?
Nice pass though.
Sure. Make it an automatic TD if a face mask, horse collar, or similar play brings down the ball carrier inside the 5 yard line.

But I wouldn't want to see that. It happens rarely enough that I wouldn't want a rule like that -- let the league office suspend him later if they decide it was intentional.

So, what concussion protocol doesn't have that little 49ers guy in a dark room right now? He was knocked out for a second or two before he hit the ground.

I don't care so much if he gets retrospective discipline. It's more that the offense gets penalized for a penalty that directly prevented a touchdown. And as we saw, running it in from the 1 isn't always easy.

Did Al Michaels tell the NFL to jump in a lake for asking him to do two games a week? I thought Tirico was put on ice by the League last year when he moved from ESPN to NBC.

I believe it was last year that both Al and Collinsworth on different episodes of Simmon's pod told Bill that Al would not be doing 2x a week.

So Goff isn't a giant bum, after all. Gotta laugh at all the ex Bills tearing it up.
