It helps vs. Miami and increases the odds Denver misses out on a bye.
Also increases their chances of beating out KC who holds a tiebreaker against NE I guess.

Dude. Are you that afraid of the Dolphins?

I'm confused why you'd potentially want to face Miami with the loser getting the 5 seed. And, yes, I think this Miami team is a scary matchup for the Pats, at least as much as that can be said in the AFC.

Game is going perfectly in the Patriot's favor so far. Miami is winning, a few key injuries, good shit.

It's definitely a much different Pats team now. Browner, Ayers, Stork didn't play in that first game.

I don't really care that much either way. Surely not enough to be lamenting the result of this game and sighing at bounces breaking for the Dolphins. They are a solid team but they are not on the Pats level.

Miami was also missing Jones, Pouncey, Jordan, and good Tannehill.

Any given Sunday and all that. I'd like the Pats to be 2 games up on everyone. Having any single game be the difference between a 1 and 5 seed is scary.

Like four other things have to happen before that point even if Miami wins today. Plus the game is in Foxboro. Pats division equity probably goes from 97 percent to 90 percent with a Fins win. It's not worth gettin worked up over.

I certainly do not disagree. I'd say the Pats are taking 4 out of 5 against Miami, maybe better, at home. I just don't like that the consequences could be so large for that 15-20% or so.

True, though looking at the schedules, it's not all that unlikely.

Did the Pats already lose next week?

Wow, that was some block by Thomas.

Perfect throw, bad drop. He should have hit Welker over the middle though.

That the game is in Foxboro is why many Pats fans, like myself, aren't too worried it.  You're talking about a Miami team that has three road wins this season, two against 1-10 Jacksonville and 1-10 Oakland.  New England has been dominant at home for years now.  Obviously not saying Miami has no chance but there are reasons to be confident.

This is right, of course, but the same could be said if Denver wins this game. If the Pats handle their business, it's all irrelevant anyway.

Jesus Christ.

The Pats are gonna have to beat some good teams in the playoffs. That's wtf the playoffs are about. Whether it's the Dolphins, or some other team.

Root for a loss to the team that's closest to taking over the top seed in the AFC. Especially considering the tough matchup the Pats have next week.

Is it really that hard to grasp?
