I’m very interested to see this one, but am on a road trip with the family so unlikely to see it.
A lot of pundits have been underwhelmed and critical of the USWNT’s performance this month. It is hard to properly assess things when the US is so much more talented than it opponents. Are we comparing this current squad and coaching staff to the impossible, mythical standards of past teams? Or are we just in the midst of major generational turnover plus a new coaching crew still getting their bearings?
Canada is a real measuring stick. We’ll learn a lot from this match.
Edit: Also, the very best US player, Cat Macario, is out.
