I'm in Nashville at work, and called my mother in Illinois a while ago and asked her if she realized what happened 50 years ago today....and she said "oh shit...and laughed". I only called her because it's, wow, 50 years and I can remember the heartache like it was yesterday. A huge day in my life since he was and will always be my hero.....it's great that the Sox have put up the display, and hopefully they'll retire #25 one of these days.

I was at that game but way back in the bleachers. I had NO idea what the outcome was going to be.
I believe Tony is the youngest player to 100 HRS in MLB history. He was for a long time, I've lost track.
Just project his future in that park, etc. WOW
Here was a local, good looking, right handed power hitter. You can't overstate what a horrible moment that was!

Tony tried to make it as a pitcher for a while, and then went back to being a position player. He has no MLB stats as a pitcher that I can find. Tony C and Harry Agganis, our two great tragedies.
