To the extent we are representative of Pats fans, IIRC, we had a poll shortly after TB12 bolted, where around 75-80% would root for Brady if there was no conflict of interest (ie a Pats-Buc SB).
I'm sure this was said in jest, but I don't think we will ever see TB as a coach. Analyst, maybe. Politician, possibly. But I don't see him patrolling a sideline somewhere putting in crazy hours.Just in time to come back to be the new OC. But man, this is strange.
Jets and Bills fans may say something elseWhen he walks down the street people will say “there goes the best there ever was”
Arians was / is just a warm body to occupy his team during his final hurrah. I obviously don’t know what Brady was thinking but Arians was probably not Top 50 on considerations for retirementSide note something had to have happened with Arians this is so damn sudden and he is still
Playing so well
It’s because when you watched him play, he didn’t look like a 44 year old out there. I get it.Why is it shocking to me a 44 year old is retiring from football? I mean it isn’t but it is.
Honestly? Good for her. She retired as well and there are worse situations that to have your supermodel wife and good kids want to spend more time with you. I’m happy for him.Definitely think Gisele pushed this more than ever but he had nothing left to prove.
Honestly I don’t buy this. I think he just wanted to keep playing and do things more his way.Really makes it seem like winning a title without Belichick was the cherry on top that he was looking for. Can't really blame him, much as I truly thought he and Belichick would go out together as Pats.
Going to be really weird in an NFL without Tom Brady. It's been a long time since such a thing existed.
Yup. All the other HOF QBs who retired in the last few years (Manning, Brees, Roethlisberger, Rivers) looked like the football was twice as heavy. Brady's arm looked as good as it's ever. It’s because when you watched him play, he didn’t look like a 44 year old out there. I get it.
I know that the relationship had likely gone it’s course and the timeline really didn’t matter anyway, but given how well he’s played, I wish Bill/Kraft had found a way to get the 2-year deal done. Even though it would have cost the Patriots Mac.
Funny, I had the reverse reaction - I loved him as a football player and competitor but as just a person in the world he’s weird at best and a snake-oil salesman at worst.Good, I can start liking him again.
I can’t think of one. It's not exactly going out on top when you lose in the divisional round, but who was the last QB to retire after putting together a season like he just did? He had the QB triple crown (led the league in completions, yards and TDs) and was the MVP frontrunner for most of the year. Just nuts.
