I never heard of the guy but jesus, he has Dwight Howard's shoulders and Manny Pacquiao's waist.
I know, His waist looks like 12 inches and he has the Nomar sports illustrated cover physique.

He must hold his camp at Hasbro because he's a freaking action figure.
My god.
Yea, I think the power in the standup is more than an edge, it is by far in Koshcheck's favor. But I agree that GSP has the technique. His technique is superior to everyone elses which is what makes him one of the best ever. You really think koscheck has superior striking in comparison to GSP? He has an edge in power, but his technique and skill are nothing special. I think people have forgotten how good of a striker GSP is because of his wrestling. I think we're going to see more striking from GSP then we've seen in a while, Koscheck isn't going down easy and GSP is going to have worker harder for those TDs. That said, if GSP loses this fight I'm taking a break from MMA. I've never disliked an athlete as much as Koscheck.
Huh?Surprised there wasn't any talk about the TUF finale. Brookins got dominated in the first round, showing major flaws in his standup. It was impressive that he came back to win the final two rounds and the contract. Johnson probably has a future in the UFC. Phan got Shogunned in his decision loss to Leonard Garcia, but Dana gave him the win bonus, and the fight earned fight of the night honors. Maia lost unanimously to Grove.
Granted George had boxing experience. Like I said, Brookins is 8 years younger and is obviously much more athleticly inclined than George. Plus the kids a sponge. As much as I hate him, look at how much progress Koscheck made in striking from his TUF days. He looked hopeless on his feet. I think Brokins can learn in the same way and isn't a nearly the egotistical meathead Koscheck is. I think if you give Brookins the same long build up that George got and he gets into good camps, he'll have much improved skills on his feet.Sotiropoulos had boxing experience, and even won an amateur title. While the adjustment to striking in an MMA fight may have taken some time, the groundwork was there and its apparent when you watch him fight now. Brookins doesn't have that kind of background and I don't think he is ever going to have any kind of worthwhile stand up, the best you can hope for is he learns to protect his chin and doesn't rely on blocking punches with his face. I like Brookins, I'm glad he won the TUF, but I don't see any kind of real future for him. The 155 and 145 divisions are stacked right now. Brookins will finish lesser opponents when he is able to get them on the ground, but its not going to work against top tier opponents. I think Johnson has a better future if he can fix his cardio issues.
My money is on a phantom ankle injury and the Pit Bull tipping the scales at 7 pounds over LOL.I just realized Doomsday Howard is fighting Thiago Alves this Saturday. Holy fucking shit. Let's see if Alves has finally learned how to cut weight.
As a life long B's fan it is going to be very odd rooting for a French Canadian in the Belle Center but I will be gladly Ole Ole Oleing from my couch as GSP hopefully turns Kos into blood sausage.Following GSP for the last few months and leading up to his fight with Koscheck I've come to one conclusion. GSP is the closest person in the world to being the Perfect Fighter. He loves the life of being a modern day Gladiator. His whole life is mixed martial arts and learning all aspects pefectly. Were lucky to be seeing him in his prime.
I hope he tears Josh Koscheck apart Saturday. Not just because I dislike Koscheck, I just love watching Georges St-Pierre turning a fight into a piece of Art.
I'm a firm believer that this will by far be GSP's toughest fight. It will be great to see Koschecks improvements against the Evolution of GSP.Alves looked great.
GSP Koscheck squareoff was intense. Both fighters were filled with adrenaline and couldn't stand still. You could read, "I'm going to knock you out" from both fighters. I can't wait.
It wasn't just the Nogueria comment. He made a remark about Anderson Silva bowing, and said that Brazilian's aren't known for it and its not a "bowing culture." He also made some remark about them being devil worshippers or something like that. He said some stupid things, which is going to happen considering how often he talks. I think he is funny, for the most part, just because he is so over the top. However, I would never want to piss off Wanderlei Silva, or any of those former or current Chute Box fighters. There is a video of Wanderlai and Sonnen riding in a van and Waderlai let's him know that it is okay to hype up a fight but to disrespect guys like the Nogueira's isn't acceptable. Brazilians take things person or whatever.
That would be a great, hard-nosed season.
I've also heard him say that BJJ is a gay martial art. He said the last thing he wants to do is open his legs for another man while training off his back every day. This struck me as funny coming from a wrestler. It wasn't just the Nogueria comment. Man, I wish I got HDNet. I've been bugging my cable company for it. Had it in Alaska but not here in NY.Did anybody watch the K-1 Finals on HDNET earlier this morning at 2 a.m.? Heard great things about Aerts/Schilt.
