This is just some generalized alumni thing? Nomar seems a bit out of place as far as actual former teammates go.
I'm already fired up for the sequel.Tek must have come from work. I don't think I've really seen that particular loose tie style before. Most guys loosen it a few fingers or take it off.
Here's the question: Who took the picture? Imma go with Coco Crisp.
Edit: Actually, the photo looks like the main piece of evidence in a David Fincher movie. Dennis Quaid, playing the grizzled divorced veteran detective close to retirement gets called to investigate and finds Tek dead in the bathroom with his tie stuffed up his ass. He has a fling with the bookish introverted Millennial crime photo expert (Saoirse Ronan), and gets accused of harassment, but together they end up breaking the case, when, using computer enhancement technology they find a partial reflection of the photo taker in the headlight of the truck on the tv -- the thirteenth man and the murderer.

I think someone suggested upthread that it might have been a Wakefield memorial gathering of some sort. Playing with Wake is about the only thing that ties all of them together. Well that and they've all got at least one Red Sox World Series ring. This is just some generalized alumni thing? Nomar seems a bit out of place as far as actual former teammates go.
Ah thank you, I skimmed too fast.I think someone suggested upthread that it might have been a Wakefield memorial gathering of some sort. Playing with Wake is about the only thing that ties all of them together. Well that and they've all got at least one Red Sox World Series ring.
This brought a big smile.Tek looks like a guy from an Andy Capp cartoon. He blew his paycheck at this bar, tomorrow he’s going to be wearing a big barrel with suspenders.
Right after he took 35 vicious naked cuts with his bat in front of the mirrorDougie ordered the Chicken Parm sliders for an appetizer…
Spelling always counts and there will always be math.I was told there would be no math.
Yeah, that and the disproportionate number of catchers and the fact that Nomar, Lowe, Tek and Trot would (with Pedro) have had the longest career overlap with Wakefield.I think someone suggested upthread that it might have been a Wakefield memorial gathering of some sort. Tek certainly was his teammate the longest at 15 seasons (1997-2011).Yeah, that and the disproportionate number of catchers and the fact that Nomar, Lowe, Tek and Trot would (with Pedro) have had the longest career overlap with Wakefield.
Right, and Ortiz at 9Tek certainly was his teammate the longest at 15 seasons (1997-2011).
Nixon - 10 seasons (96, 98-06)
Nomar - 9 (96-04)
Lowe - 8 (97-04)
Youkilis - 8 (04-11) + sharing the broadcast booth
[Pedro - 7 (98-04)]
Mirabelli - 7 (01-07)
Timlin - 6 (03-08)
Pedroia - 6 (06-11)
Lowell - 5 (06-10)
Ellsbury - 5 (07-11)
Damon - 4 (02-05)
Saltalamacchia - 2 (10-11)
I think you're reading too much into a still photo during a memorial for wake.Maybe I’m reading too much into it, but Nomar’s body language is of a guy who is not really sure he should be there. Gotta be rough to be in a spot like that, where everybody won a championship or two together….without you.
Big Papi is in the buffet line.Too bad the photo isn't more vertical ... Napoli is passed out on the floor
He kept it through the pandemic? I've wondered about that whenever we get over to Los Gatos. Hope he's cleaning up now.Looks like they are at Youk’s brewpub in Los Gatos
Papelbon in the men's room.Big Papi is in the buffet line.
Manny went to the wrong funeral and stayed.
Grady Little was asked to leave.
Tito is on a chicken and beer run.
I've been to Youk's brewery (Loma Brewing), it is much more industrial looking than the original photo.Looks like they are at Youk’s brewpub in Los Gatos
Tek definitely knows Bill Brasky. Sings his praises. If you didn’t know these were Red Sox, what would you guess each of them does? Youks looks like the bar owner that he is. Tek came in from the end of his work day managing a Bank of America. Nomah started and runs a successful soccer training program for kids K-12
I thought that Tek sort of looked like the used car salesman who was constantly running back and forth between a customer and his supervisor. If you didn’t know these were Red Sox, what would you guess each of them does? Gonna be a bummer here and note that Lugo sadly died at the way-too-young age of 45 in 2021.Papelbon in the men's room.
Tavarez got directions from Manny
They forgot to invite Lugo
Technically, he got a ring for 2004. But he never did play in a World Series.Dougie and Trot look every bit of their age.
So fun seeing Sox players of different eras teams hanging out.
Nomar is the only one without a ring. F U Grady Little!
I’m just glad the Yankees paid $153m of Ellsbury's dough. My goodness.I hope Doug does not need to pay for beer.
Career earnings:
Ells $174m
Pedey $135m
Damon $110m
DLowe $109.5m
Mike L $75m
Nomar $73m
Tek $63m
Youk $51m
Timlin $38m
Salty $32m
Trot $30m
Doug $6.9m
Of course, Johnny Damon also had the indignity of Brady Pitt and Jonah Hill telling the world how badly overpaid he was, so maybe Ells or Pedey should buy him a round. The grand slam alone was worth $110m, but I didn't have to pay it I guess.
We don't know who took the picture, though.
From '47 Brand Support: Unfortunately at this time we will not have these but we are hoping to produce them next MLB season. If anyone sees the 49 hat for sale, please put a link here.
Tek - “I’l gladly pay you Tuesday for a hamburger today”.
Welp now I'm feeling old and I'm tearing up. Thank you.A cool video behind the scenes at Big Papi's HoF induction. Lots of Tim Wakefield on camera: View: https://youtu.be/ao_tNwI6qGA?si=tHY4wdfijrtkkhWw

You're welcome, I hadn't seen it either. When the World Series is on and the Red Sox stopped playing relevant games over a month ago, I long for happier fandom times and watch Red Sox World Series highlights or other Sox related videos. I think YouTube prompted this one and it really seemed to fit the topic. Thanks for sharing this. I don’t think I’d seen it before.
Some real Matt Foley vibes out of TekJacoby Ellsbury just posted this on his Instagram Stories
Given that people seem to be looking in slightly different directions, I think there might be a second shooter.Tek must have come from work. I don't think I've really seen that particular loose tie style before. Most guys loosen it a few fingers or take it off.
