Everyone has them. Everyone lies about them. Everyone leaks them after the year is over. And the year is over (far too soon). So what's going to come out of the Garden the next couple of days?

Chara - I think he has if not a broken wrist at least a severely injured one. He took that slash about 10 seconds into game 3(?) and went down the tunnel for a few. He took hits and shook it like it was numb/in pain the rest of the series.

Krejci - shoulder? wrist? He obviously was rough offensively. I wasn't writing things down but he sure seemed awful to me at faceoffs which leads me to believe.

Kelly - in the witness relocation program

Any other guesses?

I really want to know what happened to Chris Kelly. There's been no news about him. I honestly hope Chara had a leg injury because if he didn't and he's just getting old, that's not a good sign.

They seemed to keep targeting Chara's hand too, there has to be something there.

Krejci--God, I hope he's hurt, because that was a horrible series.

Chara's probably not hurt, he's just old and slow now. A wrist injury wouldn't have affected his legs like that.
Not true. If he's having problems controlling the puck, he's going to slow down his legs to compensate for mistakes. Which would make sense with how tentative he was playing.

He couldn't stay with guys even without the puck. He's old and has simply played too much hockey and too many minutes in his career to be the same number 1 guy he was a few years ago. A few times in this series he was giving me Hal Gill flashbacks.

Kelly's got a back issue apparently. The only thing that worries me about it is that, if there is no interest for him as damaged goods on the trade market/waiver wire, he won't be ready to be deemed healthy by the time the amnesty buyout period rolls around. His loss can be absorbed a lot more easily than others thanks to the bottom-six depth Chiarelli has accrued.

Chara was invisible from game one on. I'm guessing he got hurt in the Detroit series. How many shots from the point did he even attempt against Montreal?

Cam on 98.5 said no injuries to Chara or Krejci. If that is the case Chara looked pretty washed up.

I just got a notification from Score Mobile that Chara needs surgery on his broken finger.

Edit: Apparently the source is Otto Sykora, GM of the Slovak national team.  Broke it sometime in Game 4 or 5.

That makes perfect sense.  Last night, he wound up to take an open slap shot and then passed it off.  Chara never does that and was surely a sign he is hurt.

Yeah, I'm not sure I believe Cam. There were multiple reports that Chara had shots before game 7 so that he could play.

Beetle on Felger & Mazz just relayed that report from the Slovak GM that Chara suffered a compound fracture of his finger in Game 4. That's bone sticking out and everything. He's at risk of infection and will have surgery tomorrow.

You are too kind. Cam was clearly lying like a rug on those answers. Which, given his job, I (and you and everyone) expects.

The compound fracture thing seems plausible. The falling down isn't explained by the finger, though.

Was that when Gallagher slashed his hand at the beginning of the game? I seem to remember him leaving the ice briefly after that. He also left the ice for a longer period at the beginning of game 1, but I can't remember if that was for a slash to the hand. I actually believe it was.

No penalty on either, naturally.

If it's painful enough and sending jolts of pain to his body, it could. He could have also had a secondary injury off that blocked shot, which it looked like hit his ankle.

That's not really a "shoot the messenger" type of situation. It seemed obvious Chara was hurt.

Chara says he's hurt, but won't elaborate other than to say he won't need surgery.

Matt Fraser played with a broken foot. He may need surgery.

It's being reported he broke it in Game 1 of the AHL playoffs.

MRI on Lucic's left hand/wrist as well per a few folks on twitter.
