Brady was being criticized for not mixing up the snap count at all on Twitter by a few media members. Can someone tell.me how Denver gets off the ball so quickly? No way they were onside on all those plays especially the first 4th down.

A Manning-esque accomplishment.Gronk did set the record for a TE receiving yards in a championship game though!
He's a prime candidate to be cut. Only $1m in dead cap if cut in 2016, the last year of his 3-year deal.I only noticed LaFell on a replay, once. How is that possible?
Yeah, I can't remember one hard count to try to draw Miller and Ware offsides, which is one of Brady's trademarks. Obviously it's harder in Denver, but it's worth trying on those short 3rd down plays when the Broncos linemen are trying to time the snap count.Brady was being criticized for not mixing up the snap count at all on Twitter by a few media members.
Banking on kicking 3 FGs with 6:00 left is ridiculous.Or kick 3 FG's and win.
Because he's not healthy/not that good.I only noticed LaFell on a replay, once. How is that possible?
But a play here and a play there and Brady only has 2 rings. Just how it goes when you're at this stage. The goat is the OL, and particularly Cannon, full stop.
The playoff losses are harder to take each year, because the day is fast approaching when Brady is finished and the juggernaut that this team has been for the last 15 years falls apart. It's maddening to think that if not for Logan Mankins shitting the bed in 2007 and Nate Solder getting hurt this year (to say nothing of other plays left on the field - Reche Caldwell in 2006, the helmet catch, the Welker drop, etc.), the Pats might have 5 or 6 rings.
ST players need to have the awareness there to try to pick up the ball and lateral/run. Diving on it does nothing,Mini-mini goat to the Pats players diving on the fumbled conversion runback by Denver at the end. You have to know you need to try the scoop and run there.
Blaming Stork for not picking it up at the 20 and manufacturing a 20 yard offensive broken play isn't in the realm of conversation. I know situational football and all that but he wasn't going to pick it up and pull a music city miracle.Mini-mini goat to the Pats players diving on the fumbled conversion runback by Denver at the end. You have to know you need to try the scoop and run there.
I know, I'm not serious. Just funny that, all things being equal, that COULD have happened.Banking on kicking 3 FGs with 6:00 left is ridiculous.
You're repeating what Harry said.ST players need to have the awareness there to try to pick up the ball and lateral/run. Diving on it does nothing,
Those aren't special teams players, and it's an extremely unusual situation. If anything, that's something coaches should be reminding them.ST players need to have the awareness there to try to pick up the ball and lateral/run. Diving on it does nothing,
Not sure how Brady can be a goat today. Yeah he chucked one up for Miller but he was literally hit more times than EVER in his career, regular or post season.
Hey now.Also, THE FUCKING SERVER.
Is it really impossible to just up the plan for the playoffs or for the one day or whatever? Every week it crashes.
Problem is, you fall into the trap of the false belief. That, somehow, the game would play out as it did if the Pats went for the FGs. There's no way of knowing with any certainty.I know, I'm not serious. Just funny that, all things being equal, that COULD have happened.
I was mad at them going for it both times (game thread is evidence), so this isn't hindsight.
I understand the Cannon hate, but he did bulldoze 2 Broncos into the end zone for Jackson's TD.Cannon; Marcus Cannon; Cannon, Marcus; the Patriots' right OT; Cannon.
Those were really tough catches. Brady usually led him a little to far or was a little short so he had to reach around a defender. And, in fairness to Brady, he never had enough time to make a good throw.Second to all the playcalling/McD and O-line calls.
Can I nominate James "Reche" White for a best supporting goat? He looked like he wanted a "participant" award on a bunch of those passes.
We keep waiting for this to happen...Looking forward to Denver get absolutely waxed by whomever they play.
I agree with that, but it wasn't as if it was "well, you can go for the tie now, or you have to win by getting three FGs.". Each stage, if the previous FG has been made, has a reasonable argument to kick the next FG. It's like betting on a flush draw when you're two cards away. Kicking the first FG isn't necessarily playing for the flush, but when the next kicking opportunity comes up and you're one card closer, it comes into mind.Banking on kicking 3 FGs with 6:00 left is ridiculous.
Obviously. They weren't PLAYING for 3 FG's...but ALL THINGS BEING...Problem is, you fall into the trap of the false belief. That, somehow, the game would play out as it did if the Pats went for the FGs. There's no way of knowing with any certainty.
It was Gronk who came open while Brady still had time. Brady gave up on him way too early on that play. You can drive yourself nutty with these things, but I thought Martin was wide open on that 2-pt conversion.
Right, but it would be like drawing when you know that several cards in that suit have already been taken out of play, considering how the Denver D was destroying the OL all game. Possible, and in the end might have worked, but improbable.I agree with that, but it wasn't as if it was "well, you can go for the tie now, or you have to win by getting three FGs.". Oh, on the first fourth down, certainly take the 3 ... especially became it negates the need for the 2-pt conversion if things go your wayIt wouldn't have been playing for 3 FGs, it would have been playing for 3 points and then a TD on the next drive -- plenty of time for that. You still would have gone for it the 2nd time.
I could see it either way, to be honest.
They did have a legitimate running game. A two headed monster of Dion Lewis in the passing game and power running with Blount. They got hurt. I'm fine with those two back next season.Either get Brady a good pass blocking OL or find a legitimate running game, because when your whole offense is predicated on him masking every single weakness by making correct reads and getting rid of the ball in 1.8 seconds, eventually you'll face a fierce pass rush and have no fucking option to cope with it.
Good kickers are hugely important. Gost fucked up once, but I have no issue with how they're handling him. He's worth it.Probably not a goat thread discussion, but kicking is so good in the NFL right now that you have to ask whether franchising a kicker is a sound move. There just isn't a very big difference between a primo kicker and a replacement kicker, and no kicker is immune from a miss. Three million more of cap space probably wouldn't have won the Super Bowl, but I wonder if having a highly paid kicker is a luxury that is unneeded in a salary cap league.
