The wrong side of the bridge....
Holt is better than Nunez at the moment. Even when he faces rh batters. In Holt's 2014 and 2015 season's his big problem was playing every day. He wore down. His hitting vs rh batters if you don't play him every day would have shown to be superior to Nunez. It's absolutely mind-boggling that he isn't playing instead of Nunez at the moment.
Any hitter who excels vs. batters of any kind, RH or LH, has my respect.

I'm guessing you mean LH pitchers, but how you managed to flip both of those things at once is stumping me.

It's probably about a 5% chance of it happening, but if Josh Ockimey continues to mash, he could potentially be a power bat off the bench later this year. Of course he's left handed so it doesn't help solve our issues vs lefties, but if the team decided to go with a Betts/Ben10D/JDM OF vs R, he could potentially get some bats at DH. It's also possible he becomes a serious trade chip.

First 18 games: .210/.338/.339 in 74 PA with 12bb/23k on a .297 Babip. He had 13 hits, with 2 doubles, 2 HRs.
Since, 31 games: .342/.430/.622 in 135 PA with 19bb/32k on a .408 BAbip. He has 38 hits in that time, including 10 doubles and 7 HRs. In he last 96 PA, he's only struck out 19 times to go with 13bb.

For the year, he's now at .295/.397/.520 in 209 PA with 31bb/55k on a .372 BABip and he's still just 22 years old at AA. Josh works very hard and there are a lot of things to like about his progression from year to year. If he continues to cut down on his K rate and hit for contact, we have something. I get he's a 1b, but I'm surprised more people aren't excited by him.

I would think Adam Lind is that bench lefty or first guy called up should something happen to Moreland.

Though I agree it's possible Ockimey gets a September call up, I doubt he gets meaningful at bats.

I meant that he had reverse splits. As does Nunez. I screwed up by saying rh batters. I meant pitchers. So what I meant to say was even though Nunez seems to hit rh pitching better while Holt hit lh pitching better, I'd take Holt right now whether it be vs rh or lh pitching. Holt's a better player.

bit of a surprise here as he's been playing well, but Lind is sticking around:

Surprising indeed.

Guess things could be worse though. I mean we basically have had a 25 man roster spot wasting away all season, and it's already overly clear at this point that both Swihart and Lind's AAA competition in Travis are busted prospects that have absolutely no future here. Plus he could always luck into a ring before giving up on the grind and calling it a career.

He's already been released by the Yankees which basically leaves Boston and Houston as his two best shots at a ring in the AL and Gurriel was just activated from the DL. The NL contenders are stacked at 1st (Goldschmidt, Freeman, Rizzo, Santana, Bellinger, Belt and Milwaukee is crowded)

He's only getting the pro-rated minimum anyhow no matter where he lands.
At worst he's down in Pawtucket two more months before coming up in September.
