Also the most efficient scorer in NBA playoff history among players averaging > 25 ppg. #2-9: Durant, LeBron, Dirk, Hakeem, Jordan, Gervin, Kobe, Jerry West.Curry sets the NBA playoff record for three pointers made, taking it from Ray Allen. He did it in 91 games. It took Allen 171 games to build up his numbers.
Agreed. Between his mouthing off more this season and the refs' increasing annoyance with it, it could get dicey now. That alone makes me kinda glad the Rockets are lined up for round 2 rather than round 3.It seems like it doesn't matter, and it probably won't, but 2 techs towards the 7 you get in game 1 could be an issue for KD. He gets a lot of techs, and could get a lot more if refs didn't give him the standard star leash. If he misses a game against HOU? Could be important.
That was one of the sickest dunks I think I've ever seen. Just vicious, cold blooded shit.Paul Millsap just got murdered by Derrick White.
Their team is really one more scorer away from being a title contender - with another dependable scorer, they an challenge this current Golden State squad. Without one, they may lose this series to Pop's band of merry grifters.Nuggets can’t buy a basket.
He (still) The North! You guys aren’t going to believe this but DeRozan is coming up small in a playoff game
Jokic, tooYou guys aren’t going to believe this but DeRozan is coming up small in a playoff game
I wish I was a gambler. This was the most predictable of today's "upsets"Spurs!
True but betting on DeRozan in the playoffs probably would have scared me offI wish I was a gambler. This was the most predictable of today's "upsets"
Derrick White was not recruited out of HS, walked on at a Division 2 college. Played 3yrs there then transferred to Colorado for a year.Paul Millsap just got murdered by Derrick White.
Sometimes I wonder if I’m out over my skis a bit as probably the board’s biggest Simmons hater but he has pretty much never made me look bad.I have yet to see Ben Simmons play well.
I have heard that he is good; never seen it.
They were double teaming him all game though, so he was passing out. I think it's more his teammates have to start making shots.Joked is a great player but he never looked at the basket. He needs to post up more and look to score on Aldridge.
I mean, I get the reason that everyone is high on him: you never want to bet against guys who have that kind of length, athleticism, skill, and feel for the game. It's not like he's a headcase who doesn't try either.Sometimes I wonder if I’m out over my skis a bit as probably the board’s biggest Simmons hater but he has pretty much never made me look bad.
He is an awkward teenager and the hoop is a beautiful woman. Can’t even look at it and wouldn’t know what to do with it anyway.
Simmons is a master facilitator in a clusterfvck situation. I was critical of the Tobias trade in the Sixers thread, now Embiid is injures and they still have no depth. If the ball is going to be sticking to Butlers hands, which it should be under these circumstances, then Simmons skill set is pretty much useless offensively.....and defensively they can’t keep dribble penetration out of the lane.I mean, I get the reason that everyone is high on him: you never want to bet against guys who have that kind of length, athleticism, skill, and feel for the game. At the same time, it's indisputable that his lack of a shot makes him VERY, VERY exploitable in the playoffs, and that his regular season stats don't reflect that at all. I mostly blame Philly's roster construction; If you're going to build around Simmons, you have to do it in a very specific way to maximize his value, and they've done almost the opposite: collecting talent at all cost without regard to fit. That works if your pieces are LeBron, Wade, and Bosh. Not so much if they're Simmons, Butler, and Embiid.
I could imagine Simmons being a destroyer of worlds as the focal point of a 5-out system in which he had space, engineered switches to post up little guys, sprayed passes around the floor, and had room to get to the rim at will. The problem in Philly is that he only gets that chance in transition, and most of those opportunities go away in the playoffs, Where Everyone Tries Hard (tm).
i only watched part of the game but BRK ran the 1/5 PnR over and over and PHI had no answer. i don't know what adjustments Brown is going to make. Embiid is not moving as well as when i saw him earlier and in the year.Simmons is a master facilitator in a clusterfvck situation. Even I underestimated how bad of a fit this roster turnover was for Philly. Simmons is going to be the scapegoat here but anyone paying attention should be able to recognie that it’s a personnel issue around him and not the player himself. Why is he being criticized for not being a dominant scorer? That isn’t what he is.
I agree with all this. I guess my criticism is more of the people who somehow assume Simmons’ talent will overcome the clusterfuck (spoiler: it won’t l).Simmons is a master facilitator in a clusterfvck situation. Come to think of it neither have I. Guess we should hope for a Celtics-Sixers series. He has great stats. I mostly only watch Celtics games. I listen to NBA podcasts and they rave about the guy; I personally have never seen it. 6ers fans should pay me to not watch their games.
When it's Lillard? Absolutely. He has that range, and it was a huge mental lapse by Westbrook."And Westbrook slacking off," while Lillard hits a 32 footer. I mean, can you slack off on defense when a guy shoots from half court?
