Surprised McCarthy didn't kick the field goal on 4th down [/rimshot]
Maybe the best Thursday game in a long, long time. I've basically given up on Thursday games, and there little reason to think this one would be good
Hey, when do we on a Boston-based sports message board get to say that Brady is better than Rodgers?
Neither were the Giants in 07 or 11. I agree problems go beyond Nelson, and I think something is not quite right with Aaron. Not close to writing the Packers off if he can get right.1-4 in their last 5 with 2 divisional losses at home.
They are not a good team.
Genius having a LB cover Cobb. They must have stolen signals and known the play call was, "run towards the nearest Bears defender and then stand still."Goddamn that Bears coverage was pretty good.
You're a Jets fan so easy for you to say. But, around here, it's only cool to have Brady ranked #2 and the flavor of the season (this year it's been Rodgers... soon to be replaced by Newton) must be #1.He's better. What has Rogers done? Light up shitty teams in domes and at home.
There's no mystery at all. The constant media blowjob on Rodgers is tired. He can't carry Brady's jock. Why am I so happy the packers lost? I don't get it but I am.
That's why I haven't posted in there. Well that and some people having Peyton ranked any higher than 25. Mind, boggles. You're a Jets fan so easy for you to say. But, around here, it's only cool to have Brady ranked #2 and the flavor of the season (this year it's been Rodgers... soon to be replaced by Newton) must be #1.
EDIT: Otherwise, you're a fanboy. Read the QB rankings thread.
Bigger problem than Rodgers is the coaching. In the Broncos game, Rodgers was running around for 3+ seconds on many plays before throwing it away or taking a sack. The coverage was too good and the offense had no answers. That's not Rodgers' fault, the coaches need to work out ways to get guys free.Neither were the Giants in 07 or 11. I agree problems go beyond Nelson, and I think something is not quite right with Aaron. Not close to writing the Packers off if he can get right.
This posts screams for a "like" button. Is there a QB in the world other than TB that wins that Bills game on Monday? If it were not for an inadvertent whistle, Brady puts up at least 27 with a makeshift OL and no WRs.
I'll say it... Rodgers is a BIG step below Brady in talent. One SB appearance? Whatever.
I appreciate your support. But, remember, in order to appear cool and objective on SoSH, you cannot be effusive in your praise of Brady (whenever you cite Brady, be sure sure to always modify any declarative statements with the phrase "one of..."). After all, there are still those who say Peyton is better or at least his equal and Rodgers, too. Then there's the ultimate SoSH cop out - "Well, sure, I'd take Brady's career over his, but I'm not sure that means he is any better than him."This posts screams for a "like" button.
I think playoff Eli is the only other current QB that could pull out a game like that.
Calling other posters "fanboys" is probably something we want to get away from guys. Name calling has gotten a bit out of control lately so let's all be a bit mindful.EDIT: Otherwise, you're a fanboy. Read the QB rankings thread.
Especially in this instance. That 1-32 thread is not necessarily negative against Brady in any way. He was universally picked top 3. And people who picked Brady weren't mocked as fanboys.Calling other posters "fanboys" is probably something we want to get away from guys. Aaron Rodgers has the highest passer rating and adjusted net yards per attempt of all time, both by considerable amounts (obvious caveats for era) and was the best player in football just last year. He is not a step below anybody in talent, never mind a BIG step.Is there a QB in the world other than TB that wins that Bills game on Monday? If it were not for an inadvertent whistle, Brady puts up at least 27 with a makeshift OL and no WRs.

The post I quoted referenced Rodgers' one SB appearance, so I was responding to something discussing the past. Why are we discussing the past? In the 2015 season, Tom Brady is a much better player then Aaron Rodgers. How is that an argument?
Of course Brady has been better this year and considering I called him awesome and said he very well might be the GOAT, I think I gave him his due. I was just referencing that bringing up Rodgers' one SB appearance is dumb and his career numbers don't really take a back seat to anybody, so it's kind of hard to justify that he's a big step in talent below Brady.Yeah, I was talking about the entire conversation as well.
Rodgers has had some phenomenal years, but Brady is better this year. There's room for more than one QB in the NFL.

No, the only comment in that thread about Rodgers/Brady was mine, in which I said I expected more people to rate Brady ahead of Rodgers because this is a Patriots board.Especially in this instance. The argument over the launching penalty set the tone for the day, it seems.
I've been all over the internet, and this forum consistently produces the most intelligent football talk I can find.Did you delete your posts from that thread? I can't find your contribution.

The lack of reading comprehension runs neck-and-neck with the need to be aggrieved for why this forum has fallen off in recent times.
And another fluky INT except this one was a horrible throw into double coverage that deserved an INT. Still, like you say, he never does this shit vs. NE.Giants and Eli go immediately back to doing Giants and Eli things now that they aren't facing the Pats.
But that one wasn't his fault either; when it comes to Eli, it's never his fault.Second manning pick
