I find it a little odd that people are talking about these teams with respect to the bad guys on each one. While we have some visibility into certain players, the fact is that each organization is made up of countless players, coaches, football operations guys and ownership members who we know very little about personally. Experience tells us that if we knew more about many of them, we'd find them to be base characters, too.
How many sports figures were thought to be "character guys" before it was revealed that they were awful human beings, to say the least? There are so many examples. Ray Rice, Jerry Richardson, Dave Meggett and the ultimate example, OJ Simpson, immediately come to mind.
So yeah, while we can point to well known terrible guys on both teams, to pick a team or even a leaning based on that seems wrong headed. The reality is that there are great people and terrible people in both organizations, almost certainly.
Quite separately, as the week has unfolded, any reticence I might have had about rooting for Tom Brady -- given the conflicting emotions his departure spawned in me -- haS totally disappeared and I'm really pumped to be on board with my favorite player in all of sports.
