where the darn libs live
This is an odd question.

I'm looking for a way to stream all the audio from my computer to the internet -- basically meaning music.  I have a personal radio station of music that constantly plays on my computer and I'd like to be able to access it.

My wants:
- I don't want to use WinAmp.
- I have no interest in controlling the music, just hearing the stream.
- I don't care if it's playing and I'm not listening, but it would be great if it only streamed when I made a request.
- The link would be accessible via my phone - so I could just click an "app" on my iPhone and it would open up Safari and start playing.

So... is this possible?

Laddie,

I have a Plex server that I have setup mostly for TV/Movies but would also fill that need for you, assuming you have all source materials (mp3s).  You can access it from anywhere as long as you forward a port on your firewall and they also have apps for all mobile devices.

There may be something more efficient/better, but it works for me.

I've never used it for music, but if it performs as well for music as it does for video then this is the answer.
