How long until Patriot Paranoia Disorder is considered an actual medical diagnosis and how many ex-players, coaches and owners will need treatment? I am worried about an epidemic.

The last time was in TWO THOUSAND FUCKING EIGHT. His comment that it happens here all the time is complete and utter bullshit. Fuck him, fuck the Steelers, fuck the NFL, fuck everyone. Just do your fucking job. Like the Pats.
Finally, someone on the NFL network acknowledges that it happens all the time, and that when the radios go down for one team, the other team has to turn theirs off until it's fixed. Big fucking deal.
It is amazing what the media will do when the NFL does not want to put on a witch hunt.McBride11 said:WaPo all ready moving to say this happens all the time... https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/early-lead/wp/2015/09/11/headsets-malfunction-all-the-time-in-the-nfl/
Multiple quotes from multiple coaches from multiple stadiums.
Hell even the Steelers cheat!!!!!!! http://sports.espn.go.com/new-york/nfl/news/story?id=6052717
For those not wanting to click ESPN... Jets Sanchez claimed he lost his headset communication in playoff game in 2011 at Heinz field. Tomlin would have been coach for this game.
A friend of mine texted me this morning (he's a Seahawks fan). He thought the radio stuff was bullshit, but also said what you're suggesting. This is going to eventually ruin the NFL. I know the NFL loves the attention and being a 24/7/356 entity. But there's no way they want cheating stories to come out every Monday, do they? Ultimately, you can say that they brought this on themselves, but I can't imagine they want to deal with this. Unfortunately, there's really no way to stop it.Silverdude2167 said:It is amazing what the media will do when the NFL does not want to put on a witch hunt.
Maybe even the NFL realizes this has gone too far and wants to put a stop to it before the entire brand is tarnished.

Seriously.rodderick said:The idea that not only the Pats would purposely jumble the Steelers' signals, but that they would do so in a game where the attention of the entire country is turned to them, after 8 months of being called cheaters, and that they'd pipe in the PATRIOTS RADIO BROADCAST in their headsets is so fucking hilarious I kind of want it to be true.
NavaHo said:We're nearing the point where everyone employed by the Patriots will need to wear a body camera with a live feed that goes to the other 31 teams to get them to shut up. Of course, they'd all complain that the video feed isn't high enough quality.

Well the team website is pushing the narrative, so I am not surprised.canderson said:The view from here in partial Steelers country (ick) is the radio failure is a direct cheating mechanism and NE is evil.

You're right, the script on the link to latest games apparently limited to 2012. Corrected link with the dates fixed.McBride11 said:That is out of date (at least that link only showed til 2012). Tomlin coached in NE in 2007, 2008, 2013, 2015.

The team website pushing the narrative is entirely consistent with Tomlin's presser last night, despite unpersuasive attempts here to suggest Tomlin' really was not going there.

Of course, Deadspin (80% anti-Pats) fails to note that it happens in other stadiums too, so it's probably just a wide-scale equipment issue and not some defect with Gillette, much less a deliberate scam.
The article also implies that the most likely scenario is a grounding issue, that, while not intentional, also exposed a number of people to shock hazards and thereby put their lives at risk. These guys are obviously not electricians.drleather2001 said:

Im sure Pittsburgh will take this up with the competition committee at the end of the year.PBDWake said:Especially the part where Collinsworth speculated that the pats were illegally simulating snap counts because Ben was so pissed off, but it turns out he just didn't know that the pats were allowed to shift side to side.

Most of what is placed on the PennLive site is about as reliable as Dickie Dunn's work, and you're referencing the low-hanging fruit that is their unregulated message board. Presented for point of reference. It just helps the Tomlin implication to become a self-fulfilling prophecy: we're the victims of yet another "baseless" accusation.canderson said:The view from here in partial Steelers country (ick) is the radio failure is a direct cheating mechanism and NE is evil.

a shift designed to draw the Steelers into a false start. It worked to perfection, and Roethlisberger wonders how the Patriots got away with it.

Deadspin has disappointed me through this whole thing. One of the few things they hate more than the Patriots (though that's usually tongue in cheek) it's ESPN. This story of ESPNs shittyness and bias was laid out on a platter for them and they've barely done anything with it. They obviously don't get nearly the readers of ESPN but they are quite popular in the mainstream now and it would have been nice for them to be reporting counter to ESPN.
And sometimes the defense will shift itself out of position to allow a critical second half touchdown on third and goal like the Pats did last night. I wonder if that was cheating.Harry Hooper said:So definitive. Sometimes the D-line will shift to better attack weak points of the O-line, but go on.
