Not a perfect comp, but Anibal Sanchez was 27 and entering his age 28 season when he signed with Detroit for 5/$80.  He had not proven to be quite as durable as Porcello, and had a significant injury history, but was a very good-not-great starter for the 3 years immediately prior to signing that deal (195+ innings each year, 2.6 to 3.5 WAR each season).

Porcello could certainly seek and get that kind of deal if he pitches this season as he did last year.  He could even see the highest bid come with one more year and an extra million per season, depending on what the market looks like (whether guys like Price, Shark, Cueto, Fister, etc. are also all FAs).

Given that Porcello is even younger than Sanchez was, though, and that he has ties to New England, I think it's possible he'd sign a shorter extension this offseason with the Sox.  3-4 years at $15-$16M per year.  He'd get some security, pitch for a good team in a place he wants to be (yes, I'm making some assumptions there), and still be able to ink a bigger deal when he hits Scherzer's age.
